This is something I first really noticed while playing arena. An enemy player is low health, and only needs a couple more hits to kill. The healer stops healing to chase after them to finish them off. While the healer is distracted, the enemy easily kills you.
When you are a healer, you need to focus on keeping your team alive. That is your priority, not chasing after kills. In a fast paced game, seconds make the difference in winning or losing.
Far too often healers lose focus, especially in close games when things get hectic, and put their main focus on dealing damage. Hectic situations are usually when heals are needed the most. First and foremost, keep your team alive.
Confirming kills is more important than keeping a mostly fully healed person up.
You assume that they can, for instance live longer than the person you are dropping, because, as you said, the person you are confirming is already on low health, and needs a couple more hits to kill.
Yeah, which is WHY they need to confirm that kill.
Yet⌠whats better? Saving your team mate, or killing a enemy? Whatâs the situation here? A dead teammate could change the fight from a winning fight to a losing fight because you decide to leave the battle and chase a half dead enemy, thats turning a 5v6 into a 4v6 which really turns the game around.
It depends. If itâs the main tank that you are not healing and they have spawn advantage, then they can easily rush in next fight because your main tank wonât be back in time and youâll lose the fight.
IF OPâs case, they have said the enemy is low health, and can be finished off easily, so⌠leaving your person to get the kill is the high value thing to do.
THEY should get out if they are damaged, if they are not then they can fight.
You are in a good state the get the enemy.
You are FAR more likely to kill the enemy than your ally is to die there, so you do it.
That wasnât the scenario OP gave. If you can get the stagger in your case. it may or may not be worth it⌠but, to say you should NEVER go after the fleeing bad lad is just bad supporting.
You job includes confirming kills. boosting firestrikes, helping confirm hooks, etc.
Depends on who you are, and what the enemy is doing, and who your ally is.
take opâŚ
An enemy player is low health - so there is an enemy.
The healer stops healing to chase after them to finish them off - *we KNOW the * enemy is low, but OP hasnât said about the ally, so we assume not in a crit state.
While the healer is distracted, the enemy easily kills you
Why were you STILL in harms way and not going for a health pack?
The healer was in a better position to get the kill, and was more safe to do so.
You are still able to defend yourself⌠THAT you failed is not the supports fault. They are not there to stop your mistakes. They are there to provide as much value as they can.
First of all, you should know the pecking order of everything, your a healer, not a dps.
Second of all, your leaving a battle, and left a teammate to go chase a person, your automatically making the fight a 4v6 instead of a 5v6 which is still winnable regardless.
A support, and the pecking order is who can get the most value at the time.
what makes you think that the target you are killing is not out of the fight⌠what makes you think that the person you left is not already functionally out of the fight.
They removed sym, the only utility based hero that didnât have any heals. Now all the âsupportsâ left have some way of heals. Yet your STILL denying the fact that leaving the battle to go chase a DPS thats low who could easily get a health pack and kill you?
You already made the battle a 4v6 just by leaving.
