HDR broke OW and now my screen is black

After downloading the patch I noticed the game’s vibrancy was lacking.
I looked in the options and saw that HDR was turned off.
I turned it back on and now my screen is black as night.
Yes I have a 4k hdr OLED tv
How do I fix this?
I deleted it from my console and redownloaded it and still darkness.
I forgot the settings are saved on the server side.

As soon as I hit log, BOOM! Darkness.

I fix it
On tab about hdr check next step its write , use calibration under activate HDR put it ON and everything will be good

try turning HDR off from your console settings which should keep HDR off when the game loaded to let you actually see the settings

When it turns black move down 2 slots where “open calibration” would be if you could see, click x and move analog around a bit it should show up

Yeah I just tried this while the screen was black and it fixed the bug!

I can turn off HDR on my PS5
And OW displays, but I don’t want to have to do that just to play OW then remember to turn it back on for all my other games.

I get it you don’t want, to have to turn HDR off and on just for Overwatch but temporarily to fix the bug.

You can try this:

  • Turn HDR off temporarily on the PS5 System setting to see the game’s screen and settings.
  • Once you can see your game, go to its display settings and hover over the brightness setting, as HDR will be greyed out
  • Now, while still in the game, press the PS button, go back to your PS5 system settings and turn HDR back on (the screen will go black again in the game).
  • While the screen is black again in the game, move down three options (listen to the sound cues to track your position).
  • You should land on “Open Calibration.” Select it, and then move your joystick or arrows left or right. The screen should be visible again.
  • Redo your HDR calibration and apply the settings. This should fix the game look dull and fix the bug
