Hazard doesn't belong in ow2

So for the record this guy can…

-Survive against most threats with defensive cooldowns and resource management. Has armor and a generous health pool to prevent instantly exploding.
-Assert space through threat and area of influence.
-initiate and assist in mild dives / peel for teammates.
-Can assert vertical space within reason.
-Doesn’t heavily rely on a single ability or cooldown as their entire entity.
-Has an ultimate that sets your team up for plays or can be used strategic-defensively in certain situations, but can be interacted with by the opponent’s positioning, reaction times, and cooldowns.
-Is fun to play with a unique variety of play styles adaptable to most situations and maps.
-Has defined weaknesses that aren’t overwhelming and can be overcome by skill and interaction to a reasonable degree.

In other words, he’s overwatch 2’s first official tank. This was probably an error and might need to be removed before tank players have fun and realize all tanks should feel like this in 5v5.

i think its more that they are finally finding what they need or is expected out of tanks in this day and age of overwatch its nowhere near the same as overwatch 1.

This day and age?
It’s been 2 years of OW2.
We’re on season 13.

it just means they are finding their stride on what they want out of tanks is all. :skull:

Most infants learn to walk around 9 to 18 months.
I believe it’s been 25 months.

It’s the only lore we get since they scrapped the writing team.

Hazard gets melted/wrecked by any competent team, much like Mauga.

And that’s in his current ‘pre-tuning’ state.

He can die…and melt.
But he doesn’t just vanish like many other tanks.
Ive even roadhogs go from full to dead in 0.2 seconds.

Again, he’s mortal…but durable and flexible.

I’m actually excited to see him in his official launch!

What’s fun is melting Hazard with Mauga!

What about JQ?

A dishonorable tank that the people believe is fine because Junkerqueen players are bad at the game unlike Reinhardt Giga Chad.

Oh, phew, you’re back. Did you get the milk?

JQ needed immense amount of buffs and tweaks to even be playable.
She used to only have 1x heal on bleed and higher cooldowns with less utility from shout.

…and even still if she peaks more than 2 seconds her health pool is gone from it being so low with no armor or shield to assist her. Her only way to mitigate damage is to not take it by being the smallest hitbox tank which doesn’t fare well.

JQ was designed by the old team. But yeah, this new FistQueen hero is pretty great

She was overnerfed because she was tremendously OP in the beta

My memory of early OW2’s kinda blurred together, I’m afraid. She did get nerfed as a result of the pros running “JOATS” (JQ, Lucio, Brig) on the beta patch but I can’t remember whether she got the nerfbat to the knees at release or after a couple of seasons in.

I kinda wonder whether Dive JQ from one of the joke modes was a sneak test of Hazard.

My horrible memory says that I never got to abuse Honey Bunches of Joats.

not unlikely, if you used the grapple dagger and then comboed it into carnage, that’s basically hazard’s leap right there

Should put the word sarcasm in the title, otherwise people will get confused. It is the internet, after all.

Anyway, if we are talking about the first tank designed for OW2, I’d give it to Sigma. He broke OW1 when he released, but slotted right in with minor changes (HP pool) into OW2. Maybe Blizzard were trying to force 5v5 all along
