So basically while playing Deathmatch or any non-custom game mode while searching for a game I get these freezes that occur. For the first 1-2 minutes the game runs perfectly fine and I’m at 250+ FPS average then the game starts to stutter every 10-15 seconds wherein the entire game will freeze for about a second. This effect builds to a point where it’s happening every 5 seconds or less, making the game unplayable.
This effect also happens in arcade modes but only the small team modes like Deathmatch or 3v3 Elims etc. It also happens to a smaller degree in about 1/10 ranked games and also after finding a game after playing DM it seems to be persist from DM for a few minutes until it stops. I’ve spent days looking for a solution and it’s driving me nuts.
PC SPECS:
Ryzen 5 3600 W/Stock cooler
B450 MOBO
Nvidia GTX 970
16GB Ram @ 3200mhz
The game is also on an SSD
I’ve tried using a CPU limiter, though the CPU never really exceeds 45% use. I’ve checked temps and the highest it’s ever hit was 70c on my CPU. GPU temps are fine. I’ve also changed a bunch of game settings around to no result. GPU drivers are up to date.
To describe the problem once more, I’ll be sitting at 250-300 FPS in Deathmatch and every ‘x’ seconds the game just completely freezes on screen for 1+ seconds roughly. I never see the FPS number actually drop and there are no fluctuations in ping except what’s normal.
With any PC-related tech issue, please include a DxDiag so members of the community can help you troubleshoot. Thank you.

Turn off the Xbox DVR gaming overlay in the Control Panel. Beyond that, the next thing to explore is temperature spikes (not averages reported by most apps).
Xbox DVR was already off and I’ve watched a live report of CPU temps while it was happening. I can be in a deathmatch with only one other person pinned at 300 FPS and it’ll happen where as in a ranked game when 12 people are dropping ults and my FPS drops to 150 as my computer is more stressed it doesn’t happen so I think I’ve ruled out heat spikes.
This sounds like a GPU issue due to the way the screen is freezing briefly. I’d probably start with a full wipe of the Nvidia drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and then clean install the lastest version.
Your DXDIAG also shows that your other games (Raft.exe, Paladins.exe, csgo.exe, RocketLeague.exe) are throwing RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64 errors, which is basically memory leak detection in Windows. This could indicate that something is going on with the RAM or perhaps a background process/service is conflicting with the games. You may want to try rebooting using Selective Startup and then test the game again to see if it’s any better.
Press Windows Key+R.
Type msconfig and press Enter.
Select Selective startup and uncheck Load startup items.
Select the Services tab.
Check Hide all Microsoft services.
Note: Skipping this step may prevent your computer from rebooting correctly.
Click Disable all.
Click Apply then click OK.
Click Restart.
