Have you been to any overwatch maps in real life?

For the ones that don’t exist use the country they’re from. I have been to London loads of times, and king’s row captures the moody grey feeling!

Let’s see:

  • I think that King’s Row is supposed to be in London, so that one.
  • Ilios… I’m not aware that this exists in Greece, but I’ve been to Greece an awful lot.
  • Eichenwalde… doesn’t exist either, but I’ve been a couple of times to Germany, including villages that look like Eichenwalde.
  • Rialto; a district in Venice apparently, also been there once.
  • Paris and Chateau Guillard: while I haven’t been to Paris specifically, I’ve been quite a lot to France and I’ve also visited some of those large castles like Chambord, on which Chateau Guillard is likely based.

I guess sort of Rialto seeing how Venice is the inspiration behind it. I’ve been to London so I guess King’s Row falls under that.

the horizon base was nice to go on holiday but a bit too remote and inaccessible for me

Gibraltar, London, Paris, Berlin, Athens, so I guess you can say Watchpoint: Gibraltar, King’s Row, Paris, Château Guillard, Eichenwalde, Black Forest, Ilios.

I wish I could travel to Antarctica just so that I could casually add Watchpoint: Antarctica to this list for pure shallow vanity reasons.

Wow, none. Guess I have to wait for Blizz to add some Canadian, Brazilian, Jamaican, and several other South American maps to properly join this thread. :earth_africa:

Also me waiting for these maps to appear in the game:

The closet I ever got to Dubai was when I was transiting an international flight in Doha airport.

Haven’t been to any European countries, so scratch all of them of the list.

The closest I have ever been to China was in the border.

I have been to Korean twice and Japan once (all were for transiting). But not to the actual place.

So yeah, I can safely say that I haven’t visit any of Overwatch maps irl.

And I am pretty sure none of us will ever be able to get to the Moon.

Route 66 Horizon Lunar Colony is all I have.

I live in London… so yes?

I also went to the Rialto in Venice literally one month after the map came to the game. It was pretty surreal… :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I know that Ilios is pretty heavily based on Santorini which has always been somewhere I’d like to visit!

I work in Central London/Kings Row and I’ve been to Paris a few times. I’m heading out to AZ at the end of the year, so I might be able to add Route 66 to this.

havanna, its really pretty there and you see a lot of cool classic cars

Holidays in greece, long time ago. I live in Germany, which actualy looks more modern than Eichenwalde. However, places still exist that look a little bit like that map, also in the real german Black Forest. And yes, we have alot of old Castles everywhere. I just have to look out of my kitchen window to see a big castle.

Shanghai, Moscow, Busan

I don’t travel a lot but I’ve been to London and Paris so… I guess?

UK, France, Germany, Greece and Egypt.

I have been in Greece (Athens in particular) so I woudl say the Ruins part of ilios kinda catches the mood but not quite. I really wished I went to Santorini since that is what most of ilios is based on.

London, Egypt, and USA (Hollywood).

I don’t think Dubai is in the game. Oasis is in Iraq.

Ilios, along with similar maps in other games, is based on the island of Santorini. Extremely awesome place to be, as with all the islands of course, but because it’s a popular destination it’s always packed to the max.
If you’re wondering how mainland Greece looks like, there’s an adventure game called Eleusis which captures a typical mainland village’s aesthetic pretty well.

I’m italian, and i’m from the North Italy, so for me it’s easy to visit Venice.
And i can say that Rialto is simply perfect. Not thinking about the “future”, but when you go in Rialto, it’s like to be in real Venice.
It’s pretty accurate.

Damn it not even close.
