This would make him more dealable in lower ranks (and midranks on console, since his turret is the exact same while everyone else has worse aim). Doing this would allow Torn to be slightly buffed in other ways. Normally, it’s easier to break his turret first anyway, but when you kill him and die to his turret afterwards, you just feel cheated.
Pros
- Will allow Torn to be buffed in other ways.
- Will prevent bad players from turret spamming into midranks (giving good Torbs a better chance to climb, while keeping bad Torbs in their place).
- Will Make Torb less reliant on his turret.
- Will be more manageable at ranks where aiming or teamwork is an issue.
- Will allow flyers like Pharah and Echo to have better chances of survival in lower ranks.
Cons
- Might make him harder to play, but this could be a pro.
- Can’t just switch to Torb and Turret spam if your team is losing.
- Torb will be punished more for bad positioning (again, could also be a pro).
If they did this (and I’m not saying they should) it would have to be delayed at least 5 seconds after death imo. Having it just self-destruct immediately on his death is probably a little too much.

what a peculiar thing to complain about.

As much as I hate Torbjorn, I don’t think I can really agree with the concept of buildables being destroyed upon a character’s death without that being standard for the game itself - and in Overwatch there are only 2 builders, and their buildables are pretty infrequent as far as quantity of active things on the map go.
IDK I hate Torb and I think his turret needs a nerf- the range or damage is too reliable and punishing for low ranked players. That said, when you get rid of his turret he becomes a lot more manageable so I think that he’s not particularly OP himself altogether.
A better solution IMO would be to do something for Torb where, you weaken his turret and lower the range a bit so it’s not hitting people from across the flippin’ map - but also you give him a second turret kit that he sets up ahead of time so that when his first turret is destroyed, that kit ‘activates’ and grows into a full turret, replacing the other turret. This would allow him to preemptively place a turret in a weird spot or get off angles while also making his turret just easier to deal with. A lot of characters can’t approach the turret and kill it reliably, so if it’s weaker and does less damage at such a long range, this won’t be as much of a problem - while also not hobbling his abilities as they were meant to exist in the game.
I wouldn’t mind it having a delay. But I feel like it’d make it easier to make him stronger at high ranks while not making him op at low ranks.
I think it’s fine if torb stomps on new players, learning how to counter torb turrets teaches better positioning, respect for sightlines, and prioritising targets and it has enough cooldowns when moved or destroyed.
We shouldn’t nerf every hero that encourages bad players to improve, you need to accept that part of ranking up involves learning how to shoot a turret down

a better idea, why do console and pc get same patches, they are 2 different platforms, it makes no sense to treat them the same

Torbjorns turret already does less damage on console than it does on pc
Literally get good, dude. You’re not gonna get better at Overwatch like millions of other people did before you if you want to change the game to suit your bad playstyle. It’s a bad mindset.

Did you even read my post? I can deal with Torbs turret, usually. But they can’t buff Torb because of his turret. He has the same problems as Bastion. Op at lower ranks and weak at higher ranks. This would allow them to buff Torb outside of his turret and make him more viable higher up.
No, its because he doesnt need buffs

Torb is in a good place rn I wish sigma shield stuck around after death like all other deployables
But Torbjorn doesn’t need to be buffed outside of his turret or changed to make it easier for low ranks. Torbjorn is designed that way on purpose. The lower the rank, the less likely players will be able to deal with the turret, like a skill check. A silver player won’t get to gold if they can’t handle 30 IQ turret placements, that’s not because the turret is OP it’s because it’s a way to tell players “hey you need better positioning and awareness to get past this obstacle”
It’s the same this as Bastion, except here’s the thing: Torb has a place in the game across pretty much all ranks. So why fix what ain’t broke?
Torb’s already near the bottom of the barrel of DPS, and I say this as a Torb main.
Yes, lets not nerf torb. The problem with balancing torb is not how good or bad his turret is, but how big his hitbox and head are.
It wouldn’t be a nerf. It’d be a change to his turret to allow the rest of his kit to be buffed slightly.
It would be a massive nerf.
By itself, it would be a nerf. But when you factor in other abilities/attributes getting buffed, it wouldn’t be. It would only be a nerf at lower ranks.
its not, it deals less damage on consoles, also console aim isnt so bad they cant hit a stationary object if it is thats a player problem not platform problem

You are missing the point. Torb is weak in higher ranks. And he is annoying (borderline op) in lower ranks. This will allow him to be buffed in higher ranks while not letting a bad player stomp in lower ranks just because they can throw a turret. I personally can deal with Torbjorn just fine. He’s pretty much a throw pick in plat, even on console.
