I’m just a casual player, I’ve scarcely touched ranked, however, I feel like queue times have doubled. I normal play a 3-stack, and sometimes a 4 stack. Usually 2 of us queue up as “all roles” and the others stick with tank and DPS. However, our queue times (being in NA) were initially 2.5-3 minutes. Now our times are consistently 4-6 minutes.
With the matching updates, is there anything specifically that would cause this? Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks!

Not for me, I also play NA from EU. Guess it also depends when you play, what level you’re playing at etc as well, could be any number of factors. Longest I’ve had to wait is 3 minutes as DPS, tank and support I get a 1-2 minute and that’s solo
slowly turns head to look at the Support Role and their new balance changes
…
Have no clue why the time would increase all of a sudden.
But it might also be players in school, new games dropped this week, and weekends not the best time to play OW

We’re all basically unranked (so bronze) which I feel like contains the largest populace for an F2P. We also usually play during peak hours, early evening right after work. Since season 3 we haven’t found a match faster than 4 minutes, and we play daily at the same time so it’s been easy to track the changes.
Not really. I am getting Tank faster now, which is weird since some people should be unlocking Ramattra? but DPS are ok too, like 3 mins.

Tank queues are great. No more having to pass the time by watching youtube vids etc

Likely a healer exodus after they ruined Mercy, the only fun healer in the game.

From Gold through Plat I don’t have enough time to even go the bathroom across all roles. So, still faster than OW1 was. The matchmaking is still worse though.
Whenever I solo queue it seems to be normal, but for some reason something seems wrong with group queues. I’ll get 1-2 min solo and with a 5-stack it’ll be a consistent 10min+. Arcade seems to be normal though, so I’m guessing it’s just a quickplay thing.
It’s probably the new role matching system having difficulty finding a game that matches your group composition. I guess it doesn’t give up as quickly as people here think it does.
You’re definitely not the only one, I’m having the exact same problem. When I queue by myself or with one or two other people, queues take 3 minutes. I’m currently sitting in a 11+ minute queue with a 5 stack and it’s been like that for weeks. It’s getting to the point where I don’t want to play anymore because I don’t want to play by myself, I’d much rather play with a group.
How and why do you play NA from EU?
Yes and it’s trying to find a stack of a similar or equal number to put you against.
I support this. It makes it fair. If you want shorter queues-duo.
It is what it is.
Lucky you
for me all flex went from 2 minutes to 15 MINUTES
This is awful and honestly is killing the game. I am fine for applying the matchmaking changes to ranked mode, but now my friends can’t 3-5 man queue quick play. We spend more time in queue than the actual games. Quick play did not need the new matchmaking system, just leave it for ranked and give us fast queues again.
Just did 4 games, all 4 were 12 min + queues, IN GAME time played was 15, 8,9,10. It feels awful spending more time in queue, than actually playing the game.
Using VPN. Language barriers are a big issue with using VC. And there’s also a HUGE amount of toxicity etc.

Play any of the “while you wait”.
There’s practice range, death match, skirmish, and a thousand different custom game modes. I highly recommend the custom game modes. If you have never played gun game, 1 Dad vs. 11 kids, or flappy mercy you are missing out on life.
You can even create your own match and scrim against each other as you wait if none of those float your boat.
You having a huge stack versus solo queuers is not fair. People want fun and fair matches in qp too. So the system is trying its hardest to find another stack of the same number. Sometimes it can’t and it settles for less and sometimes it just can’t find one at all.
If you are really not wanting to wait your best bet is any of the arcade modes.
Worse case if you guys can’t be patient or pass the time- spilt into duos.

That’s kind of hardcore tbh. Most “casuals” I witness are husband/wife duos or 3 hours/month lonewolfs who play on a saturday between loads of laundry.
They swap over from Hogwarts for a taste of team-shooter pewpew. They get spawncamped, laugh at how embarassing it must be to direct this game, and then go back to Hogwarts.
Choosing a wand is more fun.
I would just be happy stacks still even get solo players and that the queue is only 5 mins. Stacks should only ever play other stacks. I went against a stack yesterday, as a solo pc player, with a console cross player on my team. We barely made it out of spawn.
