Has blizzard ever considered making overwatch a 2-3-2 game to shorten the queue?

7vs7. 2-3-2. This could be on the test card someday…
If you tested 1-3-2, why not test this?

the game isnt meant to handle 14 players per match. its made to handle 12. they’ve said they’ve thought of it, but on ow’s current build and without serious changes to the game behind the scenes its not Feasible.

Yeah they did say that

Now, I think considering they’re doing an engine overhaul on OW2, that would be an ideal time to allow some flexibility in the matchmaker and try 2-3-2, because I honestly believe that will be one of the best routes forward for the game

But as of right now, they’re unwilling to do it

Yes, and they explained why this would be too difficult to implement.

Im glad that people ask this every single day. This means that there is a good chance of they listen to us and testing this possibility when the new game engine arrives and everything becomes more flexible

An engine Overhaul? I don’t think so. I think it’s just an upgraded version of the current one. It won’t be a brand new graphics engine.
