And I already know the cope that’s about to hit from the DPS/Supports all like “sKiLl iSsUe”, No. I’ve been playing since OW1, I am a competent tank player. I main JQ and as of late it feels like the game is just dumping dogsh*t teammates onto my back over and over and over again that just have no idea how to play with their tanks. I’m the only one getting kills, the only one making significant plays and trying to push in. I play on corners, I try to wait for my team to be right behind me, I do my best not to get just caught out in the open and think I’m just gonna frontline and survive 1v5ing the whole enemy team, but seriously. It feels like it’s been EVERY single game for the past month or so for me that I just have not gotten a competent team at all. They all die before I do, they never get any kills, low numbers, never make any significant plays. I end the game with dmg close to 20000 and self healing approaching 8000-10000 sometimes (WITH JUNKER QUEEN), and I still lose because these idiots just can’t PLAY WITH THEIR TANK.
Has any other tank main felt like this as of late?
And note to DPS and Support mains, PLAY AROUND YOUR FRICKEN TANK!!! STOP TRYING TO DO YOUR OWN THING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MAP, OFF TO THE SIDE, AND ANYWHERE ELSE BUT WHERE YOUR TANK IS AND MAKE IT THE TANKS FAULT WHEN YOU DIE! If there’s gonna be only one stinking tank, then I’m gonna play like ya’ll better revolve around me, because there’s only one fricken me, so PLAY. AROUND. YOUR. TANK. Your tank needs to never leave your sightline accounting on what hero you’re playing.
I quit OW2 when I realized comp is WAY too RNG now. I’ve played overwatch since 2017 and solo queued comp since 2018. Overwatch had barely acceptable matchmaking for a competitive game. You’d get occasional unwinnable matches but probably about 80% of matches not in your favor (meaning you have to be the carry) your skill could make a big enough difference to pull out a win.
OW2 made matchmaking so bad that those unwinnable games have tripped (for solo queuers). Now I really believe those unfavorable games you have to carry, your skill will only make a difference in about 15% of them. The large majority of comp games in OW2 just feel handed to you. Like you get a win so ez you could have afk’d and won or you get a game you’d lose even if you played your best game ever.
This awful matchmaking has made stacking op because they’re lessening the power the matchmaker has to give them bad team mates. If you want more evidence of this, solo queue on weekends and tally up your win loss ratio compared to weekdays. You’ll find you lose far more on weekends when far more people are stacking.
S9 comp rework has potential to make solo queuing ranked so much better. Gotta keep my expectations low with this team though.
100% yes. Totally relatable. Everything you said. Played OW1 since beta. Between 55-62% win rate on my 3 main tanks (one of which is JQ). Solo queue.
My last run of games was something like 5-15. I had some of the dumbest potato teammates in unwinnable matches. Huge gaps in team skill. Constant staggering. Complete lack awareness.
You ever completely stop to look at a teammate and try to figure out what the hell is going on? Is there an actual human being behind the screen? Is this a bot? Someone’s toddler?
I have and sometimes it’s completely mind boggling.
Honestly OW is hard to play these days. Not only does match making seem to make every game a stomp, you either win very easily or lose completely every game. But balance is such a mess that it often boils down to “does your team pick the right hero’s” more than anything else.
If your tank picks ball and isn’t the worlds best Ball player your likely going to lose. If your enemies go something like Phara and your team has Junkrat and Sym to counter…
There seems to be like 3 hero’s you can play at any given time these days. It’s not even just the top ranked games either. Even in the lower ranks and QP the right team comp means more than almost any level of skill.
Yup this is real, and it can happen to people with old accounts, you can address this by playing in a new account and you rank will go up like crazy, already tried this method with a friend, blizzard blames always the next mmr patch
ive lost many games today and ive been mostly support today like i would do my best to heal teammates i even had a toxic teammate of a match i entered part way
This is now the 3rd or 4th post I’ve seen in the last 24 hours about tank mains losing constantly due to getting increasingly bad teammates. I posted as well and have uninstalled due to this. I main Dva, JQ, and Orisa and in my last 10 games I had 1-2 new players in my team that didn’t know which way was up.
I saw another player earlier today have almost the exact same post as me as she too was receiving nothing but new players on her team.
Whatever they did over there is clearly killing the player base. I for one won’t be returning to OW.
