Hardware bans for continued throwers?

Hello, i was wondering if players who are found throwing on multiple accounts, will they eventually get a hardware ban?

Because that would really decrease the amount of throwers in the game if that eventually becomes a thing, i would really love a confirmation from a blizzard developer on hardware bans for disruptive players who continued to throw on multiple accounts.

Because i had a recent ranked game where a player was admitting to throwing on multiple accounts stating that they wouldn’t be hardware banned, he was also bragging about how rich he was & how he could buy me if he wanted & that we were all poor, he said that he’s a high ranked player playing on new accounts, purposely throwing low ranked games, saying that we’re all just goldies, practically insulting us all & just trying to start a fight, i never said a word to him at all the entire game & just continued to play.

But i just couldn’t stand that players like him still exist in the game today, so i’m here to ask for confirmation on whether continued abusers who are found on multiple accounts throwing, will eventually get hardware banned.

Because that would really put my heart at ease, i play the overwatch because i enjoy the time i have with the players in the game, but when i end up matching with players like him, it just makes me feel really sad.

Why do you play quickplay classic ?

I dont think illegal just impractical you could ban someones pc whose friend was playing on their friends account.

I am pretty sure cause like everyone else, 3 loot boxes after 9 wins. Much better than Mystery heroes.

They should be responsible for who plays on their PC though, soo… no issue.

anyone can format their pc tho

Account sharing isn’t allowed either soooo…

You could try reporting, although the report system is trash so it probably won’t do anything.

Hardware ban seems unlikely because blizzard probably wants them to have multiple accounts so they make more money.

I was arguing a more like 2 brothers sharing a family pc each has their own account.

And how will that change the motherboard, cpu, ram, video card identifier?

That’s not how it works. You can’t just “format” your hardware IDs.

But you can spoof them.

So maybe don’t do stuff that gets you HWID banned and your brother can also play the game.

Most users won’t be knowledgeable enough to do this. It’s a good step towards perma banning

Cant argue, but growing up with 2 younger brothers those things can get in all sort of trouble before you catch them.

Or better yet, use a VPN/Proxy server (Can be absolutely free)

Hardware ban useless.

Not sure if it’s worth the effort of meddling with the firmwares and stuff and I highly doubt you can just hex edit a file somewhere in win10 to do that.

You know a HWID ban, just as how windows activation works, doesn’t only check the network device but the motherboard, ram, cpu, video card etc? The whole point of the stuff is so you can’t just buy a $15 adapter and get away with it.
The VPN part yeah, that’s exactly why IP bans are useless not to mention dynamic IP which is pretty much half of the world.

Pro tip: mute annoying people and move on. They can’t hurt your feelings for being gold (it’s a video game and well, rich people don’t waste time on playing a game anyways).

As for reporting and getting banned, it is possible and there’s at least one YouTuber who got hardware banned after trolling in several hundred matches at the game.

While the report system isn’t broken (it’s automated in the most part), people playing the game are. You can be the nicest person in the game, don’t communicate and can still get reported for abusive chat if someone decides to and you’ll get silenced/suspended by an automated system after a lot of reports. So until people actually report people who genuinely throw, Blizzard can’t do anything.
