Hard Lock in Bronze 5

My account is hard locked in bronze 5. Apparently other people have this issue too and we all have played in the first version of overwatch. It’s not even like I’m a bad player, I’m a support main and normally get over 8 thousand healing on mercy each round and max of 5 deaths. My healing beam uptime and damage boost is equal at 50/50 most of the time and my win rate is 50 but I believe I should still be higher then Bronze 5. I have never been higher than bronze five and this is a problem. Fix your broken ranking system and game.

Similar for me. I have been here since OW1 and I have dropped from masters support to gold support. It’s just the new Blizzard. They don’t know what they are doing.

The MM system is broken so the games you’re playing are basically one sided and mis-matched.

Mercy really isnt the hero you should be playing in bronze 5. Mercy is pretty much only as useful as your teammates and you cant expect good teammates in bronze5.

You have to DPS on Support. B5 DPS can’t land shots and are not worth boosting. Go DPS Moira if you don’t have the mechanical aim yet.

Your MMR is down bad, you need to go 20-0 or even more to get out. Contact me via discord - FXtrt I may help.

Yeah, that’s not good. 5 deaths is fine in good ranks, but in Bronze you should never die. 8k healing only by going 50/50 on beams is a problem. You should be 60/40, 70/30 if possible. 50/50 means you have basically no impact on the game.

You’re in your rank because you deserve to be there.

My OW1 account will never get out of bronze. I got a new account when OW2 came out and it’s in gold dps and silver tank.

It sucks that I can’t have any of the loot that I paid actual money to Blizzard for, but the account’s broken and not fun to play on.

I wonder why my OW1 account deserves to be there, but my new one doesn’t.

Because the anti smurf allows you to get more sr for wins and lose less for losses. Play more and you’ll fall.

This is a basic concept that has been explained over and over again

Playing mercy in a rank where your dps won’t be landing 80% of their shots doesn’t sound that proactive. You might as well download an aim trainer and just lock illari/bap while fragging out in those lobbies until you reach a point that dps actually get something out of blue beam.

i spent most seasons i played comp in high diamond or low masters on a couple accounts.

and its been annoying AF to climb back up through plat since the (not a) reset… im getting there, but like really this is stupid

That’s a bit harsh. 50/50 is okay, even up to plat. And it doesn’t make a huge diff, when you’re boosting people who can’t aim anyway.
Like everyone else said, it’s almost impossible to climb on Mercy. You need to play another support, get some picks yourself, or find a nice smurf to boost you out. There are plenty of them in your games and they love playing with a Mercy.

Ever wonder why it’s Plat and below doing 50/50? Because everyone above does 60/40 or more lol

Mercy is possible to climb on, and there are Mercy UR2GMS. Damage Boost, even when they can’t aim, should always be used more than healing. If you’re gonna heal and damage equally, just play Ana for more heals AND damage. Mercy isn’t good enough at healing to be doing it 50% of the time

And above plat, you can trust your Ana to hit her shots. You can trust your tank to not go and feed in the enemy backline. You can afford to pocket your DPS. Bronze is a clown show. You can’t trust your team.
I’ve been bronze. I’ve climbed up to diamond 1 on Mercy. If you want to climb out of bronze, you don’t play Mercy, even if that’s your best hero. I talk from experience.

Unranked to GM isn’t Bronze to GM. Your first placement game, as a new account, is in gold. And depending on your stats and whether you win or lose that game, the game either bumped you up or down.
Even if you lose your first 5 games, you’ll still play in silver.

I could almost imagine a gm mercy player playing dps mercy at times in bronze lobbies to “carry”. Thats probably what i would go for as a non mercy player.
You’d probably get flamed a lot though.

Anyways, yeah, mercy has less carry potential generally than many others. Its most likely going to take longer to climb than on other heroes, but in no way impossible.

iirc when ml7 did bronze to gms at one point with all supports, mercy took the longest by quite a margin. but i dont think he plays mercy terribly much either.
