Every single time I pick Widow to have some fun with the character, most of the enemy team immediately swaps to hard counter me the instant they die, even if it isn’t to me. A dps is guaranteed to swap to Sombra, a support to Kiriko or Moira, and the tank to Winston, Ball or Doomfist.
And then I am completely and utterly useless and have no choice but to swap or I throw the game for my team. It’s not possible to do anything when countered like this.
Sombra will harass and hard target you the entire game, and it’s almost impossible to fight her off. Very very rarely I can flick and hit her but never in the head and I just die after. It’s common to get tbagged and called trash by the Sombra.
Kiriko will take all kinds of angles to hit you, and her projectiles are gigantic and very good at hitting a slow moving scoped Widow in the head.
Moira will flank and throw an orb and then right click you to death in 2 seconds and fade so you can’t get a lock on her.
If Winston jumps on you as Widow you are dead and there’s nothing you can do. Even if you grapple away, his jump cooldown is so low he’ll just be back on you and kill you. Widow can’t do anything to Winston because of his bubble.
Doomfist will 100-0 you in about 2 seconds if he gets to you. You can’t do anything to him as Widow.
Ball can just chase you around and left click you, there’s nothing you can do to him as Widow.
Widow as a character sucks. I know she can be an issue, but she is countered far too hard with almost no effort required by these characters to completely shut her down and force her to swap.
When I pick her, I only get to play her for about 2 minutes before I have no choice but to swap. It sucks.
It’s either you having fun or other 9 players starting to have fun once you switch. I say we should always prioritize the other 9 players over the Widow players.
1 character shouldn’t be useless almost every single match because one person swapped to Sombra and decided they don’t get to play.
Like I said, I know Widow can be an issue, but this is stupid. This is a whole character that gets shut down almost every match and doesn’t even get to play the game. Why even have her in at this point? Just delete Widow if she’s so despised that the millisecond people know she’s there they swap their entire team just to counter her so she can’t play.
Widow is the most easily and hardest countered character in the entire game and it is literally not possible for anyone to play her in any match in any without encountering multiple of her counters.
I rarely see Widows anymore because of Sombra. I’d say I see Widow less than any other dps.
I agree with this. But playing Widow means that you have the luxury of having one shot and being able to delete every Support and DPS in a second from across the map. Imagine if this kind of hero didn’t had counters… And her only real and hard counter in the game is Sombra currently, no one else. You are complaining for no reason.
She should have counters, yes, but her counters should be able to be overcome just like counters for any other character.
It is almost impossible for Widow to overcome her counters. They just shred her with ease and send her back to spawn every time.
Yeah, she does suck. Too easy to counter. I don’t know what they can do. Nobody likes one-shots, so they will go all in to prevent that. My friend tried to play her and he got farmed by Sombra. He wanted to try her out
I’m bad at God level aiming to mirror a widow but my girl mei and her wall gets the job done and removes widow from the fight
I think widow is fine and is more map dependent than other heroes. She’s the sniper character and not every map is a sniper character’s map.
If widow is weak to flanking and dives then maybe we should add an anti flanking and dive charac- oh wait uh no nvm.
What’s her health? 200? 225 could help. But no more
Idk. She’s not the only one that’s weak to dive and would need peel. Zen for example. IDK how to help them with flankers besides having another support babysit them.
We could also lolbuff her close range unscoped shots nothing too crazy but maybe lower the spread a tad
Geoff Goodman did not have an allergic reaction to one shots. I miss him. Albeit, under Alec Dawson, we are finally getting Reinhardt buffs. I guess you win some, you lose some.
I am okay with Sombra because this char design is ridiculous.
About the other heroes if you perma-die like that then there is something wrong with your comp, how you position or play as a team.
Remember you can delete people without Mercy glued to you.
If widow dies to sombra, she did her job well of getting the attention away from their supports. Widowmakers tools are actually oppressive against sombra, It’s widowmaker who is the counter to sombra.
We have people complain when shes at THIS state right now so i dont think theyre gonna buff her
what is funny is that they dont address the fact that you just straight up lose if you dont mirror tracer in 75% of games in high elo though no one complains here either
She can, especially sombra. She can turn and one-shot Sombra faster than Sombra can uncloak and kill her. Widow being countered so hard is deserved due to the way her kit is “balanced”. Remove her instant, cross-map ohk and then you have a valid argument to make her not be countered so hard.
Even against Widow’s own “counters”, she has a fairer matchup because she either has the same or more chances, time, and shots to kill her attackers or survive them than the majority of characters have when playing against her.
