Hanzo is actually NOT OP, he is hard to master

I am now taking Hanzo off of my OP list and now only:

Genji, Tracer, Ashe, Widow remain.

My reasons for this is that the projectile speed of hanzo justifies his larger attack hitbox. This has become apparent with the quad DPS meta that seems to be growing where 4 long range DPS, 1 tank (orisia/rein), and 1 support (anna) show that hitscan beats projectile 9/10 times.

While his headshots are annoying, they are not nearly as reliable as people think.

Headshot hitboxes for comparison.

yeah Spamming whit Projectile Arrows that have a insane Headshot Hitbox is really hard to master :woman_shrugging:t2:

Why do you think Jeff coin the term ‘Forum’ prefix whenever people are talking about anything on the forums? Because everyone exaggerate everything on the forums, causing exasperation and frustration.

Arrows hitboxes isn’ Even big, devs confirmed that it’s one of the smallest projectile in the game.

Hanzo damage numbers might be actually OP but In game it is inconsistent projectile and not reliable in long range.

I just really hate when the arrow so OBVIOUSLY curves to hit you in the head.

I actually find everyone you listed but hanzo(and to some extent Genji) to be pretty balanced, despite hating them.

Widow I think could use an HP tweak to help people outside their effective range push her back, but otherwise she’s fine. Annoying as hell though.

Tracer is… I hate to say it, but she’s fine. She is annoying as hell, but does EXACTLY what she was designed to do. I do wish there was more some characters could do against her, but she’s theoretically the character they balance based on.

Ashe has no problems, no idea why she is on there. Listing her does not help you though. Everything she does has strong counterplay. Dynamite is easy to avoid if she doesn’t shoot it, in which case she is super close or made a good flank. Kill her. If you got hit by it and have a decent teamcomp, heal through it. If she didn’t shoot it, move out of range. BoB is the definition of counterplay. Her gun does good damage, but has a massive reload. If you can dive her and burn her bullets, she has NOTHING.

I think Genji needs some minor changes because he can be absolutely terrifying, but is fairly balanced. Still hate him.

Hanzo? He has answers to his weaknesses. I won’t say he’s OP, but he needs his weaknesses opened back up. He also gets really random kills, which is incredibly frustrating.

He’s not hard anymore.

Any lick of skill he took was immediately removed when they buffed every aspect of his kit, especially the arrow speed increase.

That is ludicrous if true and should be nerfed to crap.

It’s just the difference between a projectile hitbox and a hitscan. Don’t get fooled by the people saying that Hanzo’s arrows are tied for the smallest projectile hitbox. It’s true, but it’s still HUGE.

Hanzo’s paradigma:

Shoot somewhere there, and that will be headshot

You don’t have to say anything else, that image already tells everything.

He’s a braindead 0 skill spam hero, how is he hard to master?

However, he is even deadlier in a player who is skilled.

And how the hell is Ashe op?

Hard to master=/= not OP
His skill floor is too low for a hero that can one shot.

My question is “Smallest compared to what?”

Rein firestrike is a massive projectile. If every other projectile is huge, then being second smallest doesn’t mean much. We need to know what the one that is smaller than his is, and how big it is.

It still has a hitbox. Just saying.

This.

Statistically is Hanzo balanced. He has a healthy pickrate and his average damage is on par with other DPS’ers.

He’s just annoying and his (sometimes random) oneshots can be very excruciating.

I’m somewhat okay with the headshots shenanigans of his primary fire, but if there’s one thing I would change, it is to REMOVE THE ABILITY TO HEADSHOT WITH STORM ARROWS.

It’d make him a lot more vulnerable up close, while still being able to wreck things that can’t be headshotted (Sentry Bastion, Torb turret, barriers), and still great for finishing enemies off. Just… No longer melting everything up close. You already got wallclimbing and leap as tools to use, you don’t need to be able to melt a Winston in 1 second flat at point blank range.

then storm arrow damage will probably need to be buffed to 120 to balance things out. and by removing crit you are removing the skill factor of the ability.

I find that hard to believe. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was fake.

Lucky for me and for you this is easily testable in game by every single player in the world.
