Hanzo counters?

Howdy everybody

Just a stupid question for one my friends that can’t kill Hanzo and hates him a lot :sweat_smile:
Just a quick question of which counters counter Spamzo? :dart:

Wido . She literally counters every hero in the game :skull::skull::skull: .Also Sigma his removable shield could be a decent answer to snipers by forcing them to change their position :ok_hand:t2:

Against a good Hanzo?

Another Hanzo. That’s the problem with heroes who have multiple ranges where they’re deadly and can one-shot.

This is a team game.
Some players believe DPS should counter DPS.

She can send suppressing fire to give any sniper a problem.
She can suppress Hanzo from playing like this… :eye:
to playing like this… :man_cartwheeling:
She can also use halt to bring them down from their perches.

Genji, Lucio, Winston, ball, dva all of them won’t be able to do much if he is pocketed though, will have to isolate him are dive together.

Widow hanzo can’t snipe anymore so 1 shot to head equals that supremely

I don’t think there is much that he just instantly loses to, which is good. Hard counters where you win with zero effort are bad. But there are lots of heroes who are fair fights vs him, where good movement and aim will result in beating him. Like tracer; genji, lucio, echo, pharah, ball, Dva, Winston etc.

Orisa is tragic. Sorry. She might be able to do something against Hanzo, but please don’t pick her and throw against his 5 teammates!

Long range hitscan. Hanzo’s arrows do have travel time and can actually be dodged if your see it coming. There are other matchups that put him at a disadvantage such as Tracer, Genji, Pharah, Shields, D.Va, Winston (BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS MATCHUP), Ball and Bap Immortality Field. A lot of these counters are NOT hard counters. They are skill match ups that give you the edge but won’t just win the fight for you

Idk why no one is saying genji I eat hanzo’s alive which is why I can never relate with the hanzo threads and complaints here lmao

he counters everyone but hanzo doesn’t have any (real) hard counters. that’s what saivior was asking about

Well, he’s countered mostly by range and mobility so while I might miss some heroes, here’s a list of counters I believe to be pretty effective against him.

  • D.va: Matrix is the most efficient protection against his high damage shots. She can easily close the distance and use his low mobility using her strong primary fire and missiles, mini D.va is pretty hard to hit. Most effective with dive dps that can close the distance and use matrix stall for their advantage.
  • Hammond: Uses mobility and cc to easily dodge his damage. Has shields to absorb more damage and lack headbox for Hanzo to use. Can easily finish Hanzo in a team fight.
  • Pharah: Flies above giving hard time to Hanzo’s projectiles which are effected by gravity. Comes up close in order to deny poking from Hanzo and can put high burst pressure on Hanzo with aoe splash damage. Can chase him if he wall climb.
  • Widowmaker: Outranges Hanzo’s projectiles and uses hit scan damage which allows her to out speed Hanzo’s damage. Not the best counter due to Hanzo’s small hit box but has the upper hand in term of range
  • Genji: His deflect can react in time to his projectiles and cause massive damage and even instant death to Hanzo, can jump around Hanzo in order to make it much harder hitting him. Fights up close where Hanzo struggles to hit.
  • Lucio: High mobility with speed+wall ride, has cc to mess Hanzo’s aim and fights up close.

There are probably other heroes such as Ana,Winston,Tracer or Ashe that would fit that category well but I think this list is a pretty solid one in term of best ones from each category.
