Hanzo changes now we are saved(!)

There are heroes who are actually hard to play (like hanzo and gengu),
and there are heroes who are designed in a way allowing even the 7 years olds to play (like junkrat)
WHY ARE YOU NERFING THE SCATTER GUY WHO IS NOT EVEN PLAYED (you can check the statistics, hanzo pick rates are really low) AND NOT NERFING THE AIMLESS BOMBING DUDE WHO IS LITERALLY IN EVERY TEAM? SERIOUSLY? don’t talk me about an unbalanced scatter arrow while there is a character who can kill everyone without even looking at where he is shooting

Scatter arrow is just terribly designed, regardless of Hanzo’s actual balance or the relevance of other heroes.

Scatter is going replaced with something potentially even more powerful but not complete BS and random. That’s a good thing for the person playing Hanzo and the people playing against him.

I’m surprised you think a forgiving hero like genji is hard to play. He’s one of the most popular heroes as has always been meta.

Dude you clearly haven’t played enough Hanzo if you think he’s getting nerfed.

If changes stay as is, Volley is going to be insane (6 arrows rapid fire, 80 damage, can headshot for 160 each; 960 max potential damage) . For reference Scatter currently does 450 damage max. Leap is just the cherry on top.

I 100% expect this forum to erupt into a bunch of salty posts shouting at Blizzard to nerf Hanzo like they did with Sombra.

don’t think the combination of volley and lunge is a nerf to scatter.

scatter is an ability that let you determine the damage of 6 shard at the instant you fire that scatter. if you f up. you loose damage to all six shards.

now volley is not as bursty but you have 6 chances at firing a 80 damage arrow. that is much more forgiving.

and you get a mobility ability on top of that.

Less gimmicky is better.

He is not that hard people tend to say it. He has a high skill cap but you can play him very easy lf you train your movement. You are not good then but you can play him.

Someone got effed up by my beautiful Junker mains one too many times. Good job my pretties.

OP, I’m gonna let you in on a little secret.

Read carefully… for this is important for your survival:

  • Don’t walk into the grenades when at a choke point.
  • Don’t follow Junkrat into enclosed spaces.
  • Attack from a distance and you are all good.

Well don’t get into the sight of hanzo, aim better than him and you are all good lol are we really doing this?

I have mained hanzo since season2 been to high diamond 3-4 seasons. Now The scatter is a burst ability and hanzo is said to be a sniper, you dont take away a burst ability from a sniper and give a sustain damage ability instead. Thats just dumb. You gotta remember you could use hanzo’s burst very efficiently(e.g you could destroy a zarya shield on a key target just as he/she was moving in for a teamfight and then take him/her out very fast) you aint doing that with this rapid succession arrow sh*t. You have to remember no1 plays hanzo with %30critical hit accuracy, thats just insane. Therefore the damage you get out of those rapid arrows will be too damn low and will take ages compared to the scatter burst, if a healer is on your target its gonna take you 1-2 extra arrows to kill the said target assuming its a tank and most likely you wont get the chance to hit those extra arrows to confirm the kill. Hanzo is not in the top 25 pick list in any of the damn ranks. To make such a drastic change on this hero is just blizzard sucking the cool aid out of raging hanzo haters’ d-cks. Meanwhile you have a support character-Moira- chasing down flankers playing like a flanker herself. Blizzard just focuses on the needs of the many and says fff. the few.

He’s being reworked for a few reasons. He’s losing scatter because it’s a skill shot that everyone learned to do. So it’s no longer a skill shot. Scatter is too easy for the reward it gets. So instead we’ll be getting something that can cause way more damage so lon as your consistent InAccuracy. On top of more dps, we get a movement ability. I’m really going to miss scatter arrow since it’s my second favorite ability right behind grappling hook, but hanzo is going to be an animal soon. So psyched.

The rework is intended as a buff not a nerf. Chill.

Attack from a distance, dont push chokes, dont chase to punish. Sounds glorious mate. So basically just stay in base pick widow and you are good?

If he weren’t he wouldn’t be used so extensively at all ranks.

Here are some reasons why removing scatter is GOOD for Hanzo

  1. Scatter is mostly luck based making it very inconsistent.

  2. Volley one of two new abilities replacing scatter is not only more consistent but it deals out about the same amount of damage.

  3. Leap his second coming new ability gives him a much needed escape ability. Before if he missed scatter he was mostly dead.

  4. Even with the literal best damage ability (not including ultimates) in game he still had a low pickrate because of how hard it was to remain consistent with him.

  5. His skill ceiling will become higher which is always good.

In the long run this rework will help him far more than it will hurt him.

Lol, you don’t see me complaining about Hanzo. He’s easy to avoid providing he doesn’t have good aim. If he does then it’s a little tricky, but not impossible.

And yes, we are doing this if you keep crying. You don’t want to accept the advice then I don’t know what to tell ya except I hope you have fun.

I feel like there’s a difference between being a little OP and being easy to play. Sure his hitbox for deflect is a bit big and swift strike resets a bit too often, but he’s still a difficult hero to learn, low level Pingus get eaten up for breakfast
