Hammond Lore Problem

Hammond is currently in Australia but there is an issue with this being an Australian I know that hamsters are actually illegal here becasue they are a major threat to our Eco system. So was Hammond allowed to stay becasue he was intelligent or is this just an over sight in his character backstory? I know he is in junker town an outlaw society that don’t follow basic laws but still.

Its 60 years in the future, no one knows hes a hamster there. Its not like a single hamster is gonna affect the ecosystem by himself anyways

well then i think their government have more things to worry about (junk and hog, abandoned omniums, junkyars toxin infested wasteland, and 2 omnic crises lol.)

As far as i know in Junkertown no one knew that Wrecking Ball is controlled by Hammond.

Australians are not known for being particularly smart, they may not have identified Hammond as a hamster yet. He’s oversize and seems to walk about on two legs. Perhaps they think he’s a wallaby.

Because no one knows he’s a hamster. He’s just a “mysterious man in a robot” known as Wrecking Ball.

Does this rule apply to hamsters over a foot tall? I don’t think there’s any danger of him reproducing.

The Australia in the OW universe probably isn’t the same Australia as the present one. I mean think about it… the very concept of Junkertown would probably be illegal in today’s Australia, so your ‘problem’ is halted right from the start.
