Had such a fun Weaver game

Been getting some better games on him recently and got a game where I canceled Mercy Rez with platform, later on I blocked Illari’s Captive Sun with tree (totally intentional btw :eye::lips::eye:), and then I blocked it AGAIN for myself with platform (I rose up on platform and it went under, blocking the LOS for me)

ALL IN ONE GAME

I really love when I can fully utilize his tech to the fullest. It was a bit difficult to push through at times but we managed. I’ve been having a lot of fun body blocking for the ally I pull after grip ends since the healing perk makes him a bit more resilient. If he’s gonna have a hitbox the size of the sun I might as well take advantage of it :sob:

The character is great fun, and making good use of the platform is a big part of it!

Nice work!

When Im in the Zone with Lifeweaver, it really is a unique experience: petal platform at just the right place, Tree of Life in just the right spot on the map when the team needs it, Life Grips at just the right time to more useful and life-saving than annoying and distruptive. Hes one of the toughest heroes to master in the game, and that challenge can be really rewarding when hes played just right. :ok_hand::ok_hand:

AAAAAaaaah that was so tight, well done  I especially loved the timing when you blocked the Illari ult with petal aaaaa it was so clean

Sidenote, I see we are both obsessive pingers. :stuck_out_tongue: It’s a bit reassuring to see someone else doing it. Sometimes I feel like if I spent less time pinging for my life against flankers and such, I would win more duels and just get more stuff done in general. RIP

Yessss this is actually a pretty good tactic. I often forget about it, but I have done it myself sometimes too. I think it’s even better if you turn your back to the enemy while body blocking; don’t quote me on this, but I THINK the petal behind his head covers his critbox from behind

Now if I may point something else out, there were a couple of parts where I’m quite certain you would have gotten a kill on Ram if you’d taken Superbloom over Lifeweaving. My recommendation is to always take Superbloom in every match. I promise you won’t regret it. Lifeweaving probably isn’t going to save anyone 99% of the time. And personally, I instalock Life Cycle every time too, even when the enemy has an Ana or something. Life Cycle + Superbloom all day every day. Those two perks are the only ones he has in my world :dancer:

Hhhmmmnnnnnnnn. Highly suspicious.

Congrats on a great game! I still don’t like you cause Weaver is a pain to deal with. You guys pull way too many of my guaranteed kills and are too fat for your own good (hp wise).

I really don’t go thorns unless I know I can be poking and damaging the whole match. Since the start of the game was a bit chaotic and they had a lot of damage I just decided to go for the bloom just in case.

Also yeah I ping to high hell lmao

So I just did some calculation on the extra healing perk. At the absolute maximum, that is to say using your dash as soon as it’s off cooldown every single time, you’re gaining an extra +5 HPS, or with the DPS passive applied, +3.75 for squishies and +4.375 for tanks. So before factoring in reload, a total of 60.2, 45.15, or 52.675 respectively. And again, note that you have to be repeatedly using up your own mobility and self-healing tool to achieve those numbers. If you hang onto it a bit more, that number goes down

On the other (side of the) hand, you will always be dealing some damage on Weaver, so Superbloom will always have an opportunity to make a difference. Even if you’re a super defensive Weaver and only feel that you have time to help secure a crucial pick here and there, or have an opening to pressure the tank. Superbloom actually helps quite a bit in making sure things die when you need them to, which of course in turn means less damage coming in. For the actual numbers, it brings his maximum non-crit DPS in theory from roughly 132 to 172 or so. And it’s VERY easy to reach that number vs most tanks in particular. They explode like crazy

I never use the heal after dash perk, you give up way too much with very little benefit.

Great plays on LW though!

The bonus hps isn’t good, that’s for sure. But, the hp per shot is quite good.

Since the max is 80 on a shot, the bonus is at minimum a 25% boost to that healing shot. If you shoot it at what would normally be a 50 heal shot though(the new total would be 70) then that’s a 40% boost to that shot.

In regards to making sure people have the hp to win a fight or getting them healed back up after a pull, the bonus can go a long way.

Yeah that’s really why I like to use it over thorns against more high damage comps. Their burst damage can be unpredictable so it’s VERY good when you need to use it in a way where you can rely on the extra burst to keep someone up rather than having to pull them.

I don’t spam dash off CD but even if I do, I am in a safe position if I am doing so, either on my platform or in the very back of my team.

Even if you’re not using dash off cooldown, it’s still a very frequently used cooldown since it both moves you and heals you. It’s already used a lot, the perk gives extra benefit to it when you do use it.

I never have seen people making a case for that perk before. Putting it that way makes it sound interesting. In all honesty, now I’m convinced to maybe try giving it a try sometime just to see what it feels like, since I have literally never used it before

Do you think it would work alright with my playstyle? I tend to get right into the thick of things a lot of the time. I love having the extra damage, but now I’m curious to see if this could benefit me in some way as well. I have a feeling it could help make multitasking easier in certain situations and lead to being able to do more damage in those specific cases

It is definitely a subtle perk, you probably won’t really feel it because of that very low increase to overall hps. I’m just saying that if you look at the actual math of the per shot healing that it’s probably helping more than you think it is lol
