I was playing a few days ago and noticed that my character was moving in different directions on its own. I thought at first that it was a malfunction in the particular keyboard that I have. I noticed however that it was going in directions for key presses that I was not making. It didn’t happen at the start of the round but in the middle of the round and then stopped at the end of the round. I closed the game, reset my keyboards usb and started again without issue. This could be dismissed as a faulty keyboard or network packets being messed up.
A few days later, I was playing with my fiancé and she had the same thing happen to her. However, her abilities started firing and was put in situations where she couldn’t help the team. I thought perhaps she was having issues with the keyboard because its the same model as my own. However, towards the end of the game, her chat window opened and typed GG on its own and a few other legible words besides keyboard spam. Simultaneously, there are a few players on the other team that appear to be using an aimbot and a wallhack (A McCree that is questionable, and a hog that Im 100% sure is wallhacking). This seems to be some kind of exploit or someone is injecting keyboard presses across the client. This shouldn’t be possible unless there are some huge back doors in the game that haven’t been patched. I have seen a growing trend of hackers using aimbot and wallhack daily. No, Im not just crying, its very obvious when someone has less than a millisecond aim, spins around and locks all the time. But this is a new level of exploit that needs to be fixed.
If anyone wants to review her game, here is the code: JMTKTF. Her character is Cradledreams.
Unfortunately, the chat logs don’t show in replays so its hard to convey how messed up this is.

Sounds like rubber banding lag.
I had a similar experience, then I realized my fingers were aligned on ESDF.

When my ping is too high, the game becomes unplayable with teleporting and snapping back. Rubber banding makes the game not fun for you, or your team.
interesting and terrifying idea that someone could spoof your keyboard just from being in a game with you.
Are you both on the same network? (I assume so but need to clarify). If you are you also might want to check your computers for infections.
That sounds like rubberbanding.
Although a feature like that does exist as some apps like Teams or Zoom have the options for you to share the screen with someone and have them take direct control of what’s currently on your screen.
So a “hack” of that nature is definitely not out of the question. If I were you, I would check both you and your systems for any vulnerabilities.
NGL I thought you were talking about a new sombra ability. Unrelated, but there was a witchdoctor character in Bleeding Edge that could take control of other characters as an ult, making him dangerous near edges. Just suicide them
it would be cool if they ever make a new hero where his/her ult would be mind control. for like 5 seconds he can take control of an enemy hero and make him either shoot his teammates or jump off a cliff

You could literally do this awhile back on a certain source game
this just sounds like bad lag.
There’s a way to do this via a virus, but you need the target in question to click on a link that forcefully downloads the virus.
But it’s far more likely just rubberbanding.
Not to sound condescending but did you guys read the post? It’s not lag. Not sure if it helps but I’m a senior software engineer and can tell the difference. Lag would be asdf spam over and over and then the character would “rubberband” back into the original position. Rubber banding is inconsistent and generally goes in one direction or the other and then “rubberbands” back to the original position because of packet loss. This was controlled movements and using abilities such as E and Shift when those keys were never being pressed, and then actual english was being typed on the keyboard without the user actually touching the keyboard. So I highly disagree with what everyone of you have said. You can take this post with a grain of salt if you like, but I’m telling you that there is some bad stuff going on with the Overwatch client.
I did find that a google researcher a few years ago found a major issue with the battlenet client allowing people to do man in the middle attacks through the client. This was supposedly fixed but to me, it seems like there is another big exploit thats probably out there.
I’m here to inform the community but if you guys want to turn a blind out and continue as normal, by all means, have fun

I don’t think anyone here actually knows anything about how code or network systems work. When you press a key, it updates the game state immediately on your screen with that input. The input is also sent to the server and synchronized with everyone else’s input. Then, your client and the server synchronize your local game state so everyone’s game state is the same.
So, when you use a hack like aimbot, it reads out of your local memory to predict were the enemies will be, and then executes the necessary actions to confirm the kill. What this sounds like is instead of reading the local game state from memory, it is writing to the memory. If the proper security checks are not present, you could move someone else within your local game state, and when it synchronizes with the server, and then with the other clients, that person will move for everyone.
It is quite annoying that people just dismiss this kind of post without reading it. And repeating that it is rubber-banding or lag when 5 other people said the same thing, does not add to the conversation at all.
This just happened to me! It was saying things like “looks qualified”, “GG”, and Thought about it". I exited the game and got suspended from comp. Any news? It was like someone took remote control of my game.
