Hack is faaaar too strong and EMP even more

You said clearly:

So you clearly say there is no Teamwork and that Sombra has a low winrate because of it.

So then I ask you how can you tell that Hack and EMP are far to Strong?
Sure you could have watch some OWL match and saw her doing well but the way you want her absulutly nerfed to trash is sounds more like you just play some of her counter and got mad

I stole this from someone but I can’t find it anymore:
Hey paper here! scissors need to be hard nerfed plz. Also Stone is fine

If she doesn’t work She just doesn’t and if she would be strong in any way people would learn to play with her and as her too they had more then enough time to copy what the pro’s do but keep on hating m8.

This is what I’ve been saying all along. If she doesn’t work for you, that doesn’t make it unfair.

Sombra is nothing compared to how broken Doomfist is

yeah…but her spread is CRAZY at that distance and only targets you can dmg with any threat is hog or d.va.

and again. stats dont lie…tracers do more than sombras because she has TWO guns so even if 1 gun is 2 dmg weaker per bullet…she makes it up by design of firing twice in same timeframe.

Found your problem! You can’t 1v6 and expect to win!

Tbh, you can’t really just run around by yourself and expect to win. If you isolate yourself from your team and let yourself get hacked, that’s on you.

No that’s not my problem

All joking aside, dealing with hack and EMP takes a bit of learning. There’s a bunch of heroes that force you to develop skills and habits when facing them that you normally don’t do (or they just kill you over and over):

  • Tracer/Genji: 180° and twitch shots.
  • Pharah/Winston/D.va: shooting up in the air.
  • Sym: Identifying damage directions.
  • Bastion: Flanking (diverting attention).
  • Reaper: Callouts and focusing.
  • Mccree: Ability baiting.
  • Sombra: Attention to noise.

Keeping these things in mind and building these skills is a must for each of these heroes, it already happens while playing the game but it’s still important to know.

There’s a bunch more heroes and a bunch more things you (the player) need to keep track of in order to perform decent against any hero. Another one that applies to all heroes is ult tracking.

The point is that just because you don’t want to deal with another hero doesn’t mean that hero is overpowered. If I just run up to Mccree as Reaper everytime I see him, it’s my own fault I keep dieing.

Also, some heroes are better/weaker to other heroes, it gives reasons to play them.

EDIT: When it comes to playing against Sombra I don’t have bad issues avoiding hack (if it’s worth it to me). I play Zarya a lot and if my bubbles are on cool down I just ignore the hack (better me than my teammates). Even if I’m playing Ana I hear Sombras as they decloak, know the direction and roughly how far, and stop them from hacking me (a decent amount of the time) because I learned how to spot directions when it comes to sounds (that and Sombra is constantly yelling whenever she does something; headset helps).

I’m definitely willing to help you learn to deal some of the issues.
Small changes to start with are:
-Constantly checking behind you when you’re not actively fighting (still do an occasional check)
-Listen for certain sounds. If you hear an uncloak, be sure to move. If you here a hack noise, check for the source.
-If get hacked, don’t panic. That’s what Sombra relies on. Calmly proceed to spread out and look for targets. This is especially important with EMP, as an EMP can serve as a warning to another ult.
-Finally, don’t get mad at the Sombra for hacking you. If it annoys you, they’ll do it more since you can’t seem to deal with it. But if you keep your cool, Sombra players usually will stop since it doesn’t seem to bother you.

That’s the WORST advice I’ve ever seen.

No they won’t stop. ESPECIALLY if you are the carry for your team.

The only time they will stop, is if they aren’t really trying, and are just screwing around or trolling.

As a Sombra one trick, I can confirm personally hack does not stop just because you pretend it doesn’t bother you.

Besides I have to break my personal record of 62 hacks in a single game still.

This is some really good advice, other than the fact you state you ignore hack on zarya, because that just shows you haven’t gone against a good sombra yet.

For someone like me Zarya as long as she doesn’t have her charge. I can literally ignore zarya damage until I kill her most of the time. Obviously, depends on how good the zarya is of course, and/or rather or not she has support. Otherwise Zarya is just an ult battery for someone like me on Sombra.

Well if the opponent gets smarter, then the chances you’ll die are higher. If you feel threatened, I’d go a different route. Has the Genji caught on? Go for the tanks instead.
Also, if you’re too busy having a hissy fit to focus on what you’re doing, chances are you’re gonna die pretty quick. It’s especially hilarious when they’re still typing out a rant when you hack and kill them.
Also, this is coming from a one-trick as well. Annoy the best player that they hunt you instead, then strike another spot.
By the way, I must ask, what is favorite health pack on any map? Mine is the large health pack on Anubis under the bridge.

Any health pack that doesn’t involve me dying.

I’ve thought about this a lot, and some of the pro sombras like Codey suggest they like the smaller health packs because of the 2 sec respawn as opposed to the 4 second respawn. I agree with the logic, but which one is most effective depends I think on who or what you are fighting.

If it’s a winston, than pretty much any health pack will suffice unless he has help.

If it’s a roadhog, again, any health pack will suffice unless you get hoox’ered then it doesn’t really matter.

If it’s Dva’, any health pack will suffice, unless she has help.

If it’s brigitte, bend over grab your cankles and kiss your puckered starfish goodbye… Unless you translocate of course.

I agree with the small health packs. They’re always there in a pinch and can lead to some pretty long stalls.
And yes, when I see a Brig coming on the horizon you can bet I’m already on the run.

OP must be a tank main

I used to think Sombra was busted.

Then I actually started to learn her way more. I enjoy her, but honestly, yeah, she’s garbage lol.

Playing her myself too i don’t feel like that, her hack is too strong, its so strong that it makes her useless cause she is focused too much about hacking and calling positions and so on, so actually it’s hurting her.

You mention that they should add 6 more seconds to hack. You call it strong now, but making hack 14 seconds would make her character worse than what it already is. With a cooldown like that, she wouldn’t be able to complete her primary objective; reducing the enemy to no abilities.

Do we after nearly 2 years not already got proven that this is clearly not working in any way outside of Pro Play

Adding this cooldown could give her more dmg, as she won’t need to hack constantly, otherwise thinking about it, she needs a buff to help her with it.

  • Remove translocator
  • give her a emp grenade, a real grenade with aoe. (auto detonate? so it als explodes in air, if timed right)
  • Right click gets a hack on team mates, reducing there cooldowns by half? With20s cooldown?

Not entirely sure about that. But could be nice, but she would be even more support as now and needs to balance team vs enemy.

Remove translocator? What? No. That’s something completely vital to her. It’s apart of her character literally lol.

as is maz rez to mercy and valkyrie only mentioned to later lore. Translocator isn’t that useful if she has the grenade and teammates hack.
The grenade could acutally fix alot of things on her, but could make her hack too strong, thats why the hack on the grenade needs to be seriously lower in time.
