Gysnc not working in Fullscreen mode?

I have an AW3418DW overclocked to 120hz.

Gsync set to ON Fullscreen & Vsync set to ON in the NVCP.
Running the latest Nvidia drivers 417.71

In game, I have video settings set to Fullscreen, FPS cap at custom 117. Vsync set to OFF.

The Gsync indicator does not pop up on the left hand side with these settings. But if I play in Windowed, the Gsync indicator shows up. What could be wrong?

This is always a tricky problem for me to solve, but my best guess is to disable compatibility mode on Overwatch.exe and OverwatchLauncher.exe and see if it helps.

Full restore of OS resolved it.
