Grouping up in placements now based on HIDDEN MMR

My friends play 2 games, after those 2 games(Performed extremely well on sombra) he could no longer play PLACEMENTS with his friend who was playing lucio.
How do i know it’s Hidden MMR? GM players cannot group with certain masters player for placements he got the same error as they did

So yes, if your HIDDEN MMR is to high you cannot play placements with your freinds. Can we at least see hiddden MMR if you going to use it to restrict grouping?

Agreed. The MMR for quick play stuff should either NOT be hidden, or it should not apply to competitive

What do you mean? This is great news. I was sick of seeing Gms duoing with bronzes in diamond games. Made for some of the worst games I’ve ever played. About time Blizzard fixed it.

This is interesting and good to note too for the future when I play with friends.

We need an explanation to this, can a dev elaborate as to whats going on. Same issue with me and its frustrating

Agreed they silently patched this in

If it’s not your first placements I would say it’s basically your normal SR that is simply not shown for first 10 games because reasons (“placement matches”). Since like season 6 I’ve been noticing that placement games are basically 10 normal comp games starting from your previous season final. So don’t worry too much about Blizzard ‘hiding the truth from players’ again.

placements are beyond garbage anyway. end last season 2612. go 5-4-1 in placements (positive record) get placed 2564. So how did I lose these 50 points (48 to be exact) from a winning record?

say average is 25 sr. that means in order to lose 48 through an extra win, i would have to “lose” 73 extra sr throughout those 4 losses. so that would mean you gain 25 for the wins, then lose 43.25 for the losses. that is an absurd way to run a ranking system.
