In 2025, Overwatch 2 is going to be packed with groundbreaking changes to the PvP experience that will be unlike anything you’ve seen before

Lemme guess, 6v6 with even more restrictions? P2W elements?

Whatever it is, it will not be “groundbreaking” at all knowing their track records of broken promises.

as if it hasn’t failed already LOL

Sounds like damage control to me.

“Quick! give the community a shop skin that didn’t sell well! That’ll keep them quiet.”

tanks are being combined with damage and are being scaled down in size.

finally no more tanks, Overwatch better than everything at that point.

….Not really a fan of such uninformative teaser articles.

We’re only a couple weeks away from S15; by the time this airs, we’ll basically be on S15. This feels late. Really late to tease something “big”.

My prediction for the ground breaking pvp change:

New PvP where you can play all heroes like in default PvP BUT with the addition of junkenstein’s lab style talents/cards for ALL heroes. So it can turn into the Overwatch equivalent of fortnite zero build. Either play default PvP or PvP with customizable hero playstyles through cards. Same thing but completely different experiences.

If we get another trainwreck like S9 I’m quitting

They will tease some kind of nonesense “later in 2025” and hope that most people stick around to see, while Rivals throws out heroes and maps every 6 weeks as well as high quality free skins to every event.

You could just say that you like the game and are excited to see how it’s going to move forward

Cuz it is. They’ve said they’re gonna do a full refresh every year, with season 9 being the first one

Yeah I have a feeling it’ll come, but it most likely won’t be the only change. I’m thinking bans + a mass balance change like S9, because just having bans means the game won’t change in QP unless they add it there too, which seems too intense for mode meant for less serious quick games.

It’s the “unlike anything you’ve seen before” that i feel is over-promising.
I really love the games characters and lore and they were amazing when it launched but now i feel we’re bound to the same 3-4 characters always getting skins for events and no little effort expanding the lore or franchise.

Paladins is dead and nearly buried, might aswell take the ideas, lol.

I’ve been with Overwatch for nearly 10 years,it’s my favorite game and I love it dearly,I just don’t want to dissapointed again,so I’m cautious.

If it’s as massive as S9 - in the sense that it’s as massive of a failure … then they better just stick to bans. Increasing projectile sizes was one of the worst decisions they ever made. Bloating HP was probably even worse.

Why do they mention the word “PvP” explicitly?
This implies that there will probably be PvE down the line.

It’s what they’re known for, broken overpromises and a habit of making skins for the same heroes every seasons (Mercy, Kiriko, Reinhardt) because they know these heros mains are always buying skins to fund this trainwreck.

You will die on that hill if you think PvE has any relevancy anymore besides events.
