Oh good. Now people will use the scoreboard and the on fire system to call me bad.

I’m curious, what’s a hero based progression system exactly?

All we know is “And while still in the early stages, we have begun design work on a hero-based progression system that would showcase the energy players put into playing each hero and mastering their different capabilities.”

I’ve never seen anyone use the on fire for that lmao

Worst case scenario the more you play the more powerful you get (basically pvp talents so hopefully not that)

Best case scenario, custom stuff only unlocked by playing a lot with a hero

Like maybe 100h gives you a special emote, skin, maybe a new gun design apart from gold gun

One can dream and say it’s a custom HUD based on said hero
(I’d pay for a sombra hud lmao)

I like saying “good players on fire” when I’m the only one not on fire

It’s about time, it should’ve never been removed in the first place

Why do people put so much emphasis on the fire system? Don’t get me wrong, I could careless if it returns or not. I just want to know what’s so special about being on fire.

I really hope it’s the former. Giving you better stats for one tricking a hero would be ridiculous in a multiple hero system.
Plus the fact that it would force you to grind for every heroe you wanna play to stay competitive.
Honestly, that would make me quit the game.
I don’t wanna grind anymore in gaming. I don’t have time for that

It shouldn’t have been removed to begin with.

And with the current mess of a matchmaking with 5v5 we all know one of the team is always on fire and the other one is getting steamrolled.

It’s hilarious how they got rid of so many GOOD things from OW1 and now they bring them back step by step and act like “look we listen to you and we actually do something” like, nobody asked to get rid of that in the first place.

I have a vague idea on what it might be. Take stats into account and compare them based on the same character average youre playing within that rank. You cant just blatantly compare all hero stats.

Example: Elims doesnt only account for Elims you didnt get help with, aka solo kills. Therfore a widow might have fewer Elims than everyone else and still be the best player.

Giving us back features that used to just come standard in the game.

THANKS BLIZZARD YOU’RE AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL.

What’s next group finder?

Then what’s the problem? If you could care less than you care more than zero. So you’re saying you’re willing to care less about it?

Or did you mean ‘you couldn’t care less’ which is an actual phrase that makes sense and is used around the world.

The fire system hasn’t disappeared, its just hidden.

Yeah its good news but they’re working on it so I’d wait to see what they end up deciding before rejoicing.

I feel though the fire system is a good way to keep track of when a player doing good. I remember some insane game I’ve done with 70% on fire time and it felt good even if I didn’t have the PotG.

But it needs to be tweaked for sure. I.e. 25 fire points for sleeping someone with Ana is too few ; especially if she cancels an ultimate.

Next: A new feature, the card vote system!
Then: NOW YOU CAN ENDORSE THE ENEMY TEAM!

I don’t think it’s a situation where they got rid of the system. It’s more that they were pressed for time before launch, and didn’t have time to properly update it for OW2. Which is why the voicelines never went anywhere; they always intended it to be in the game.

They’re finally at the point where they can start working on updating systems for OW2 that were intended for launch. Been a rough few months of dealing with bugs.

There’s no need to be sassy. I’m only trying to spark conversion. I don’t care about the fire system because I never cared for who is or who isn’t on fire.

This makes abundantly clear (if it wasn’t already obvious) that the people saying what we have now is not early access should be totally ignored…

They’re still revamping and adding old features that were removed… nevermind new content with maps/modes/heroes/features.

This game has a long way to go before it can be considered a polished full release… and that’s not to even mention the PvE…

But I have no doubt the “OW2 is dead” and “OW2 is a flop” crowd will keep spouting their nonsense with the game nowhere close to fully realized

Okay I know you won more than 50% bronze 5 games bronze4 player.
