Grav is too strong

Before they buffed Grav to make it a guaranteed CC (Mobility abilities used to break Grav) it didn’t seem too overpowered because nothing combo’d super well with it. Dive was and is a comp where nobody is death balling. Now that Brig has deterred most dive characters the only other option is death ball. Perhaps Nerf Grav so that people can once again escape it with certain abilities.

And to think that they were threads saying ‘Moira shouldn’t be getting out of grav’ –

We need more heroes with the ability to get out of it.

It’s the slowest charging ult in the game and your team has to follow up on it. If it isn’t strong what’s the point?

Only slow if you have low charge and little dmg output. You should watch some pro Zarya play. They get Grav incredibly fast.

There is also a difference between “Strong” and “OP”.

Still a slower charge than most ults and again your team has to follow up on it to get value. Zarya didn’t see play for the longest time until they buffed grav. You nerf that and she’s back to not being played

Zarya is probably one of the single most balanced characters in the game right now. Get outta here with this.

Not true. She lost most of her play % when they nerfed her shields from 50 charge per absorb to 40.

You’re saying you disagree but saying something about how she lost a large portion of play…

Because Dive was better.

Sym 3.0 Will drastically change the benefit of Grav.

I don’t even play Zarya and she seems pretty balanced to me. With how long it takes to charge her ult in contrast to other heroes doing the same amount of damage, and the coordination and timing required to pull off a large grav, not have it get eaten by a DVA, making sure an enemy zen has an ult, making sure Rein and Orisa shields are down or coordinating an EMP, etc etc I’d say it’s fine.

dive is still being played in OWL… and pros are blaming hanzos state of balance for making the current meta so strong.

if you really wanna argument with OWL then pls dont leave out the other part of the story.

Grav isn’t the problem, it’s the lack of counter play to it when it’s used to combo with a hanzo.

damage boosted hanzo does 260dps with dragons iirc, as well as his team spamming shots into it means that Zen can’t outheal it with trans.

People have said “just play ana and nade it”, but Ana is trash tier right now and you’ll probably lose with her anyway. Besides, they may also have an ana and nade your nade.

apparently you haven’t had a hanzo and mercy on your team then.

Hopefully but I don’t know. One benefit it has over Dragonstrike + Grav is that Hanzo’s ult can’t damage deployables but at the same time a high charge Zarya would melt the TP while it’s being placed, unless it’s instant idk.

well if you tell your teammates your about to place the TP, they can just spam the trigger button to instantly TP before it is destroyed (assuming it is usable at or before it is targetable).

Maybe you should have reduced mobility when caught in grav so really mobile hero’s can escape?

Nope. You have to break shields and demech D.VA to do a successful grav with most team comp. Also, it’s pretty slow to charge and it can be countered by Transcendence. Think, adapt, switch.

The combo may be great but Zarya is the most balanced portion of it and you’re also expending two ults in the process potentially to only get countered by zen

Something certainly needs to be done. It’s clear that as long as Hanzo remains relevant and Zyra keeps her buffed ultimate, this combo is going to feel like a must have to make big pushes and capture points.
