Grandmaster player explains how to kill goats (Alexis!)

my prediction was right about owl, goats pretty much every game. And guess what? reaper was played and he got destroyed, goats counter btw

junkrat

0.3 projectiles

80 damage minimum on mines

earns tire slower

pharah

pressing crouch preforms a dive bomb like move on a 10 second cooldown

barrage is now able to be canceled

pharah now has 50 armor

reaper

life steal reverted back to 30 hp/s

shadow step is now faster and he appears from under the ground, making it harder for him to be headshot during it (like his highlight intro)

In fairness, London did win map 3 with quad DPS. It was pretty neat! Pharah was part of it.

I wish, but Healing is going to be nerf next.

that was, still doesnt mean goats is dominant

Buff Symmetra to have good starting damage on her beam so tanks have a bit more fear then give her faster activation on her TP so she can kite them

this too

Lucio and DVA are the GOATS enablers, yet BLIZZ does FA. Focuses on Brig, who was clearly not the problem just part of it.

In fairness they swapped back to GOATS after Philly ran GOATS. That was a brief showing of DPS.

Yup you were right Alexis😂

I’m just conflicted…

I want Junkrat viable but I also don’t want him to back to where he was prior to the nerfs because he made me want to slam my head on the sharp corner of a desk in my rank.

[edit] I read that back and omg that sounds violent lmao

I wouldn’t mind a buff to junkrat but I feel like they’d need to also solve some of the spammy-ness of his design. It doesn’t feel fun at all when you carefully dodge the grenades only to realize they bounced off of several awkward pieces of geometry only to somehow end up rolling back over to you. I would gladly accept a larger hitbox for the grenades if they significantly reduced the amount of bounciness and distance they can travel, for example. Would you be opposed ot something like that? To be honest I don’t play much junkrat at all, let alone at a t500 level, so you’re a bit of the expert here. You can tell me if I’m just bad and need to git gud

To be clear I understand the importance of using walls and angles to your advantage (and bouncing the grenades off walls to attack enemies without direct line of sight), but I’m mostly referring to the ability for the grenades to linger and roll around pretty chaotically after the first bounces or so.

Lucio and dva enable everything. They’re the most flexible heros in the game right now. They enabled dive just as strongly, if not more, than goats. Kind of like how Tracer was also in every comp back when she was so versatile as both a flanker and a tank killer. She wasn’t the enabler, she was just pieced in because it fits.

i wouldnt mind that, as long as his projectile size would become bigger in some sorta way

I saw this coming too. GOATS didnt become a thing until Junkrat was nerfed. If Blizzard wanted GOATS to be dead for overwatch league, they buffed the wrong hero. Junk was always the multitank deathball counter, not Reaper.

armor and barrage cancel on pharah? no thanks lmao, that would be complete cancer to play against.

Let me explain something to you. Junkrat nerf did NOTHING OF RELEVANCE in regards to goats. Smaller bomb vs an already massive target heroes of goats won’t make a difference.

The source was the introduction of new armor and brig. Not junkrat nerf. Junkrat, even if buffed to become stronger than what he used to be, Would still be weak against triple tank with zarya and d.va. Anything d.va doesn’t eat, charges zarya more.

bomb size nerf
mine falloff
slower rip tire

all played a role in making goats strong, mostly his bomb size nerf and his mine falloff

I heavily agree with this. Junkrat simply can’t burst through the mitigation Zarya and D.va provide their team, and any splash he lands would just feed AOE healer ults.

Junkrat himself is very squishy and easy to kill, especially if he uses one mine for damage and tries to escape with the other, his trajectory is so easy for D.va to predict and track, and Zen can clip him out of the air while he falls.

I think it’s extremely naive to say things like “well if we buff this hero goats will die” when there are so many intricate pieces that come together to make goats as powerful as it is.

That sort of thinking is blizzard’s method of fixing fundamental issues.

Goats is strong? Let’s buff reaper to make him a nightmare for lower ranks and still garbage for high tiers. Tracer is strong? Let’s make a character that HARD HARD counters her. Extreme changes on one specific character to counter another. And every change either is too insignificant or creates another monster that should be dealt with. And the community just doesn’t want to learn from those mistakes. And i don’t blame them. Because even blizzard doesn’t learn.

I’ve said Lucio is OP for a LONG time. Apparently the community is catching up.
