How come , after 2 years of continuous development the servers still perform bad?
You do know Tuesday is their scheduled server maintenance day, right?
What’s in the patch besides the Kerrigan skin?
But the forums told me the game was dying
I think we all know that. But what’s special about today, besides that “meh” Widowmaker skin for Starcraft (I like Nova much much better)
yeh but why have it on EU prime time?
And I like this one way better…
Apologies for the big queue in EU. We’ve made some adjustments and the queue should be gone now. Cheers.
It is, the servers will be shut down sometime in the next 10 years, give or take 20 years with an approximate 3000% rate of error.
end the event pls or tell us when it will end
I’ve always wondered that.
Why in the hell do you drop Overwatch updates between 6 and 8pm (UK time) but the point being during Europe’s peak hours? -_-
That’s a good question! It’s tricky, we’d rather patch every region separately during the off peak time for that region. Some people have noticed that we do minor bug fix patches this way usually.
When we have a major patch though there are a few considerations. We don’t want players to feel like they have to login to an updated region to play with updates (and have a bad ping while they do so).
If something goes wrong with the patch we want our team here to investigate right away. The best time for that is during the business day for Irvine, CA where our team is located.
Global Play was a feature we were very excited about before launch. There are definitely some challenges with it though, patching is absolutely one of them. I promise we’ll keep working to improve the process, cheers.
Is there a release date set for brigitte to go live?
Most likely no, because if there was it would have been tweeted by the @PlayOverwatch twitter. However, based on previous hero releases we can assume that she’ll be released mid to late March.
Having spent many years playing WoW, that makes a lot of sense. As you say, people will go play on the region that get’s the update earlier and it does cause a lot of problems.
Thanks for the response. It’s an inconvenience for sure but it does make it fairer overall.
Within the next two weeks is probably all they can really say at the moment.
I laughing at this comment, but I think they meant to say that the game is not as popular as it once was.
As an EU player (for however long Brexit takes anyway) I have to say I quite like the current update times. It’s usually in the 6-8PM period here, and I’m always on the forums, so on Tuesdays if we’re expecting anything I can just spend a bit of time in QP, then if I see talk of a patch on the forums I can close the game down for a little bit whilst it downloads, and go get some dinner. By the time I’ve finished eating the update is downloaded and I can enter comp. It fits into my schedule well.
Bill please read the nearly 200 post long thread asking when the event is going to end. We’ve been waiting a full day and the update hasn’t arrived and competitive CTF hasn’t finished. You’re obviously avoiding this question for whatever reason and we want to know why.
