So embarrassing but I recently bought ow2 game on switch. Been messing around on unranked games to get back into the swing of it because I haven’t played since around 2017, wanted to get better at tank and support characters. Was soo bad this dude was convinced I was trolling and convinced everyone to report me, there’s no chance anything will happen with my account right?

Happens sometimes, the losing team will look for a scapegoat to blame.
Once I was the chosen, and the team kept flaming me and saying they had reported me, and by the end of the match, Ice walling and Lifegriping me inside de spawn.
And that’s bannable… So I reported them and said I did, but they were convinced I was going to be banned instead because they were 4 and I only 1.
I don’t know if they got banned, but I didn’t.
A question, do we still get a message if our report led to a ban? because I use to get those, but not anymore.

I’ve been threatened before for not picking the hero stacks wanted. They were yelling at me in VC. All because they wanted Mercy rather than Brig. They never asked and just jumped down my throat. Never got banned.

Unfortunately there IS a chance, the report system is so broken. I’ve lost 2 whole accounts to salty reports, and Blizzard support is a joke. 
If at all possible use an alt until you’re warmed up again, but idk how that works on Switch…

The whole team reporting you at once is still just one report. But if it keeps happening over multiple games you may have issues. Just pray your arnt in the negative on stats and don’t get their focus. Also try playing on anything but the Switch.

Custom games are also a great way to warm up, try simulating a real game and gradually bump up the level of the bots. They may be bots, but to level up you’ll need to have some carry potential! If you can consistently carry your bot team to wins in Hard/Lethal you should be fine

No nothing will happen. If it happens again, report the guy who is calling you a troll for inappropriate communication.

Sadly not true, something WILL happen (you can be banned even if you haven’t done anything wrong because people abuse the report system), but definitely do report the toxic people in return.
source: it’s happened to me, I was banned and forced to fight through Blizzard’s robo-support, they shot down multiple tickets telling me I violated TOS until a human being with a heart finally checked my chat logs, saw I hadn’t done anything wrong, and reversed the ban, but my endorsement level was set from 5 to 0 and they were too lazy to restore it so I couldn’t chat for at least a dozen games.

Probably ignoring your teams calls. Sure being bad had a hand on it slightly but if you’re going to ignore your teams inputs, there is malicious intention in that. Its why I don’t recommend muting team chat and pings.
Blizzard’s the only one to blame for designing their report system this way, you’re screwed if you mute chat & miss important calls, you’re also screwed if you leave chat on & get flamed/reported.

That’s why if someone tells me to switch to something, I do. Most of the time, I end up soft throwing (cause I don’t play that character) but my team won’t be mad at me cause I did what they wanted.
You win some, you lose some I guess.

Today our tank asked me to switch when I was on Kiri , he was mad spamming I need healing while we were chased by monke
I asked ok - propositions? what he needs - no response
I’m like ok. But after 2 lost teamfight he said go Brig (we were losing) It went a little better yeah, but we still lost all teamfights and lost in the end anyway… but after I switched he stayed silent. Classics

Keep names. screenshots of their conversations and if you lose your account and you invested over 20 bucks to the account (maybe 50 or 60).
Talk to an attorney and see what Can be done. Typically these are listed as “Entertainment attorneys”.
