I was just playing ow comp and suddenly everything started lagging. I got kicked to the title screen and had the “rejoin match” option but if i pressed it nothing happened except i could speak to the match and team chats. Then in about 20 seconds there was a yellow text saying “Failed to connect to the server” and i couldn’t speak to the chats anymore. I repeatedly clicked it but the same thing happened. After 3 minutes or so the “rejoin match” option disappeared and i got suspended for 30 minutes and lost 50 sr. Also other people in the chats were saying that servers were lagging for them aswell and some said nothing was happening for them. I already posted this to general forums but I’m posting it here too.

Unfortunately all disconnections and game crashes counts as leaving the match and will be penalized appropriately. The game server has no way to discern a legitimate disconnection or game crash from one that is forcefully caused by a dishonest player to bypass leaver penalties. Remember if you see the message, “Lost Connection to the Server” in the title screen or the message “Failed to Connect to Server” in red text in the text chat box, this means there is something that disrupted your connection to the game server and not a problem with the game server itself. There can be a variety of reasons this happens including those that don’t disconnect your computer from the Internet. There is great troubleshooting to start with that can most likely resolve most issues and I encourage you to check them out here:

i lost 100sr all because of this and got banned
That is in the past and nothing can be done about that, now if you want to prevent future problems please consider following the troubleshooting steps I have linked in my post above.
Blizz guy 1: Hey! Ppl have connection problems. Should we do something ?
Blizz guy 2: Naah, it is in past, we alrdy got their money
Blizz guy 1: Ok, i tell players we are sorry if your connection sucks

Bit late. No offence but if you read my post, it clearly said “Failed to connect to the server” nothing wrong with my net. First I actually thought that it was because of my internet, but no.
I lost 50 Sr because of that server error. I hope i will get my 50 Sr points back!
Only “Server closed to due an unexpected error” is a server related issue. Remember if you see the message, “Lost Connection to the Server” in the title screen or the message “Failed to Connect to Server” in red text in the text chat box, this means there is something that disrupted your connection to the game server and not a problem with the game server itself.
