This happened toward the end of the second round on Illios. It just disconnected me annd sent me to the main menu screen.
On the menu, the option to ‘Rejoin Match’ was present, but clicking it did nothing.
Closing the game and trying to restart, I got the message along the lines of ‘The update service has gone to sleep, trying to wake’ in the launcher indefinitely.
Normally I’d then assume it was my internet, but my interenet was funcitoning fine, as I could load whatever I wanted in browsers.
Had to go through task manager and stop all related processes before I could relaunch the game.
Managed to get back into the match then but it was ultimately too late.

I suppose this is what happened to three of my teammates 15 mins ago as well. Randomly kicked. Safe to say we ended up losing the match because they couldn’t rejoin.
this has happened twice to me tonight in 2 comp matches in a row
got a 15 min suspension then now a 60 min
i sat in menu unable to rejoin while getting an error failed to connect to server
I could STILL sit in chat talking to the ppl in game as we a few of us discussed havingt his issue

you can see i can still chat in match chat, and in that 2nd game only myself it happened to so people thought i was trolling not moving

Keeps happening and I will soon be banned from comp for it, which will be the end of me playing
I got a season long ban because i couldnt connect to the server. I still don’t understand why they haven’t implemented a system to check the server connection before deciding to join you into the game.
This problem is also very common all of my friends that play overwatch have had experienced this at least once.
