My internet has been having trouble today (normally is great) but for some reason my internet dropped…came back on. Got back into the game, and won the game btw but when I went back to play again I was banned. Why would I be banned for coming back into the game? I was able to rejoin game…and obviously didnt leave on purpose. This makes absolutely no sense at all. To clarify. “my internet dropped, rejoined match…finished match and won. Went back to play again…and was banned…”
There is a 2 minute timer for players to return to the game. You joined back after that 2 minute timer. It’s a system in place to prevent people from leaving matches. Unfortunately, this affects people who actually do disconnect unintentionally, but there is no way for the game to tell the difference.
I had no idea there was a timer. But 2 min isn’t enough time to usually deal with an issue if your computer shuts down or something. I rebooted my computer because another time battlenet bugged out and I had to reboot. So I did it right away to prevent it taking me too long to get back in. My internet basically glitched off and back on. If I was gone 2 min it was no longer than that. That is annoying. I obviously came back though so didn’t leave intentionally or I wouldn’t have come back at all right.
The timer is more for the players who are left in the game without a 5th teammate. After those 2 minutes are up, the remaining players can leave if they do not wish to play out an unfair match. Forcing them to wait the 2 minutes while simultaneously giving the person who left time to join back. I don’t think you should be banned at all if you join back and finish the game though.
