you had the PERFECT name with the Cowboy’s working title from the pre-Alpha: Joel McCloud.
McCloud is very cheesy, which is perfect, because the Cowyboy is indeed very cheesy.
Cole Cassidy is OK, it does sound like a name of a runaway criminal from the wild west, but I can’t see myself saying “CASSIDY BEHIND US!”
“Cloud” is also a great Final Fantasy reference that is now robbed from us.
well, all I can say is- good luck to the voice actors, boy do they have WORK to do!
I think even Cole McCloud would have been a better choice, I feel like keeping “Mc” in his name would’ve been a smoother transition and Cole Cassidy has just an awful pronunciation for callouts, Cassidy has too many syllables and Cole can easily be mistaken for other words
I used to say “cree behind”, now I’ll say “cas behind” I dont see the problem there
I’m glad they didn’t name him McCloud because that would basically make McHanzo canon.
Honestly I am just surprised it’s respectful. If the hero was named after a Dev who was accused of abusing women… I almost thought they’d give him some kind of insulting name. Or you know turn him gay/trans etc to insult a guy who abuses women.
