I am trying to narrow my hero pool down more, in order to have more time to improve. And while I like playing certain heroes, I was just wondering what are some good stats to have for specific heroes in order to compare my performance on multiple heroes.
Specifically:
Genji, Doomfist, Pharah, Hanzo, Mcree, S76?
So what are some ideal stats for each hero.
Accuracy %?
K:D ratio
Final blows / 10 min
Elims / 10 min
Damage / 10 min
Gold Hanzo with 30% accuracy and 14% headshot rate is not same with GM Hanzo
GM Hanzo with with 30% accuracy and 14% headshot rate would be about 80% accuracy and 50% headshot rate in Gold tier.
And then you cannot maintain 80% accuracy and 50% headshot rate in Gold tier, cause it will automatically promote you into platinum and so on, until you reach your personal ELO hell aka skill ceiling aka The Rigged Matchmaker That Forces 50% Winning Chances And Puts You With The Bad Teammates
try to focus more on APM and deaths per 10, the longer you are alive, the more APM you can achieve.
stats are important in some aspects but should not be your main focus.
your hero pool consists of hitscan and projectile, from my own xp i personally found it hard going from hitscan to projectile in a mid game swap, my timing was always off until i warmed up, have you considered focusing more on one type of dps?
Accuracy I understand and already have an idea of the numbers that I should be aiming for.
But let’s say I am comparing my Genji vs Doomfist… is final blows more valuable than elims? Because my Doom has more final blows… and similar elims, Genji might have more… but lower overall damage output.
i dont play df so i cant comment on that, but i do play genji, and genji dies all the time, so focus on reflect dmg, try if you can to keep above a 2.5 k/d on genji, final blows is important due to the style of genji and what is expected of him, but if you wanna climb with genji its about learning when to poke vs being aggressive and hitting your combos consistently ie: melee+m2, when you get the nano blade killing through the zen ult, deflect elims those will significantly boost APM as they require massive reflex initiative and other game sense.
There’s not really a written rule for stats because stats don’t win games.
Like… If you show me a gold DPS players stats, I can give you an idea of where they’re under-performing and having issues climbing, but they can still win games they shouldn’t by coming in clutch with an ultimate or killing the right person.
If you’re maintaining a 2-2.5/1 E/D ratio, you’re probably exactly where you need to be. If you’re below that, you’re being carried. If you’re above that (by varying degrees) you can reasonably determine where someone will top out in performance.
Damage is irrelevant.
On Hanzo I can put out over 15-20k damage in a game and lose.
On Widow you can put out like 7k dmg in the same game and win because you killed more people.
This is what leads to games won, but it doesn’t necessarily win games in and of itself.
On fire rating not less than 1:15-1:30 per 10 means you are good enough for elo you are playing in. Having more than 1.5 mins on fire per ten means you have good potential to climb. Having less, means you were boosted by matchmaker or either way.
3 K/D
less than 8 deaths per 10
solo kills per 10 (unless you have consistent pocket, cause with poket this stat do not work, you share elims (KP) with mercy)
These are good stats, I don’t mind if you get 3 K/D with bad accuracy, accuaracy can just improve your consistency. Accuracy obv have side effect on this speciefic stat.
Damage is raw stat means nothing in most cases, if you have like 15k dmg per 10 and nothing dies, imagine how many nanoes and other support ults you’ve charged. Damage is needed to apply pressure and do certain job as killing stuff. If nothing dies, damage is meaningless and even make harm for your own team, cause ultimates are overpowered, and your dps ult < support ult enabled his tank.
Elims are just a KP (kill participation) this is just for moira memes (I have 5 gold medles, my team suck), cause you can do tickle damage and if something dies within 10s after that (i believe) it counts as elim participation, but it is not actual kill. In that terms solo kills per 10 matters the most, it is certain stat shows how good are you being able to solo carry.
In my boosting experience, in order to trigger pbsr (performance based skill rating system) you need better on fire rating per 10, it has the best effect for it, so you will get more SR per game (up to ~70-90 bonus SR per game, w/o 1st placements boost bonus) The 2nd stat matters would be either solo kills per ten or K/D ratio. Then it comes to kill participation, but obv if you have 1st two you’ll have good KP percentage as well.
Well, mccree accuracy stats can be heavily affected by fan the hammer usage. (Nothing wrong with fan the hammer, even OWL players use them to secure kills)
