Why not?
Fifteen char

Hold W and left click at the enemy and rack up kills.
That’s it.

#1 most underrated thing.

Don’t hold left click.

Take the extra tiny bit of time to center your shot and tap fire. Yeah you shoot slower but you will hit more shots unless your tracking is like perfect.

I do this on Soldier as well I tap each individual bullet

Shadowstep can be your best friend if used right.

  • Don’t play him like a lone flanker because he’s too slow. You’re better off initiating with your Tank, then picking off squishies as the enemy team scatters.
  • As counter-intuitive as it may seem, press W in a 1v1 fight; your shotguns shoot nerf bullets even at mid-range and your self-heal should keep you alive long enough to win most duels against other DPS and Supports
  • Pay attention to your team’s backline as Reaper is very good as a defacto Off-Tank
  • If you’re separated from your team and fleeing enemy fire, Shadow-Step THEN Wraith Form
  • Wraith Form can’t be used to fly across ledges (made that mistake a lot in my early days lol).

This is the best way to play him, I swear. Even when I’m emptying all my ammo into the back of Reinhardt, I still tap as opposed to hold. Holding feels wrong.

Get used to doing shallow flanks. Ideally you want to initiate from the side or behind the enemy, while still being able in range to wraith to your team or at least a large health pack.

2 ways to play Reaper.

Offensive, you go for short distance flanks on offangles. The basic gist of this is remembering to always be near teammates who can help you or see you clearly when things go south, which will happen a lot. Always have an escape plan and your best escape route is ensuring your teammates can support you when needed easily. Offangles mean fighting from outside of a player’s POV, specifically at angles where there isn’t any eyes or guns aimed at you which is simple enough. Think of it as a crosshairs. Your team is either facing the enemy upfront and you fight from the enemies’s left or right sides.

Defensive. Reaper is great at bodyguardinf your backline. So against a hyper moblie team it might be better to defend your supports from flankers. If your supports are smart they’ll pocket you as you duel anything that comes near. This requires some technical know how and game sense, but takes advantage of Reaper’s strengths as one of the strongest duelist in the game.

Always have an escape plan. And no shadowstep is not an escape plan. Use it if you have to, but Shadowstep is better for repositioning. If you stay too long in one area tou can and will get pinned to that spot so you need to learn how to setup in different areas. So be creative with your shadowstep and learn to lurk in areas that is beneficial to you that prevents enemies from taking spots that could threaten your teammates. Such as tight rooms or high ground which Reaper can threaten very heavily.

High ground is still very useful, even for Reaper. One of my favorite tactics is doing a drop down assault onto an unweary enemy. Not only does this give you an element of surprise it can instantly put you in a favorable position to duel enemies as they are instantlt within your effective weapon ranges.

Get creative with Death Blossom. Using blossom before you land from a high ground jump is super effective especially against clumped up teams. One of the easiest ways to counter or waste a blossom is by marching in predictably which only opns Reaper up for CC or allows enemies to scatter. So use death blossom as a surprise to ambush enemies and you’ll get much better results eith your ultimate.

I like to fight right down to the last shell or when I have a sliver of health and then pop it. You still get lifesteal off blossom so it heals you back up very quickly in a pinch and enemies usually never expect a blossom out of nowhere.

Especially if you buy the mythic skins to make no noise. I swear its different. :frowning:

I’ll only buy the BP for his Anubis skin if they don’t release a Malthael skin for him for this next crossover between Blizzard games.

Seriously, I just want 2 skins in this game:
Malthael Reaper
Dark Wanderer/ Diablo Ramattra

I mean, I wouldn’t recommend it. He’ll be dead by the mid-season patch with the devs track record (yes, regardless of the Mythic).

Some tips:

  • Jumping off ledges before teleporting makes it harder for people to hit you when you’re in the first part of the animation. (Also makes a loud thud when you reappear at your TP location, so don’t do it when you’re trying to be sneaky)
  • Melee after you reload (specifically after the guns have dropped off of your screen) in order to get a few clean frames in. This’ll help you set up your next shot while also doing some potential damage to a close range enemy.
  • Spam melee whenever you have the chance. You cannot one tap anyone aside from Tracers and Widows who are within 1m, so you need that extra chunk damage to kill 225’s (your max damage at point blank is 216).
  • Use Wraith sparingly. It is your one and only escape tool, so if you don’t need it, don’t use it. Only exceptions being when there’s only one enemy left and you need to reload and you have the advantage already.
  • Teleport directly below you to juke your opponents. This will make them turn around and give you a free few seconds to chunk their health down. You’ll learn when to use it with practice.
  • When running away in Wraith form make sure to turn a corner before your Wraith form is out. Doing this allows you to strafe backwards with your guns toward the door to get the jump on anyone tailing you.
  • Lifesteal is not reliable. Against armor, at most you get 28 HP per shot, so you cannot duel tanks with it. Against squishies you might be spared from one more shot than normal if you manage to kill them (200 hp is equivalent to 70 HP stolen).

That’s all I can think of for now.

That’s an insanely cool skin concept for Ram, so I expect it to happen around the first of Never.

Sometimes the best teleport is to teleport in the same spot you’re standing. Even in GM this will juke players into think you’ve disengaged. Also don’t forget those invuln frames to dodge things like Dva Bomb and Illari ult to save your wraith form!

You make footsteps when crouching because of the awkward position of reapers feet when turning your camera. Always stand up to look around when sneaking, crouch to mute footsteps. Similarly everything on your kit makes a ton of noise. Use this to your advantage when you want to draw attention away from your team, just be sure to have a way out.

Probably… But one can hope for a reason to spend money on a game…

Do it, Blizzard… Give me a reason to spend more than $10 for a BP if it has a skin or two I like for my mains…

In my opinion, the most important thing with Reaper is discipline. Reaper’s gameplay is very methodical, then flick shot at close range.

The rest is better undertood by watching how GM Reaper use him.

Also I see so many people with a full clip pop ult without shooting beforehand

Same tip applies to Pharah, that extra damage before ult is usually the difference between someone living or dying, especially if you’re in death blossom range

Tips and tricks? Tip is to get on your knees and hold both hands together, praying they buff his spread by reducing it some more.

Tricks? try not to cry as Blizzard ignores your prayers but absorbs your wallet for the cool skins they’ll drop for him.

Go for squishies. He’s supposed to be a tank buster but after the armor changes he can’t even do anything to armored tanks so just go for the squishies and try to backline assassinate basically.

If the tank doesn’t have armor or doesn’t have that MUCH armor then you can shoot them a bit.

Reaper is good this season. You’re fine.
