I’ve never been above 2400, and I’m not sure at this point what more I can do as support. Can you guys please offer some feedback?
Biggest problem I see here is aim. You need to work on your aim with Moira and Mercy.
Didn’t you get cut from that one TEG team because you couldn’t aim?
Ok i watched the whole thing. Just so you can contextualize what I said here I’m 2955 as a support, peak sr was last season low diamond like 3100-3200.
You seem like a good player, focused on healing which is important. That instantly makes you better than a lot of supports out there. I hope you don’t play mercy too much because she is not very strong it’s much easier to climb with moira even though your mercy looks pretty solid her healing output is low right now
Do you use voice chat? If not then hopefully you use comms to call out your ult charge often.
It would be easier to give feedback if that had been a loss rather than an easy win for your team because then you would have been tested more. There was no need for you to change heroes at all except between rounds which is usually not the case in a difficult game.
So my question to you would be how many supports do you play? In order to help you climb it is very useful to be able to play all the supports well. The only one i don’t use much is ana but I’m on console and it’s harder to aim with her. But obviously she is a great counter to hog and versatility goes a long way.
If their zarya/hanzo combo had been good and wiped your team would you have had the awareness to switch to zen and the skill with him to build your ult fast enough to prevent the next team wipe? If they had a doom or WB that was messing you guys up would you have switched to brig in order to help counter with shield bash? These are questions that were not answered in the video because it was an easy win but could be the key to explaining why you are not able to climb out of gold.
So my best advice is to play all the supports and learn when is the best time to use each one. A lot of people refuse to switch when they are being countered especially in gold. So if you switch supports to counter someone they may stay on that hero the rest of the game and you have a free counter the whole time which is a massive advantage.
I play all supports except Zen and baptiste. I try to avoid Ana since 2-2-2 since I feel like the meta has really limited her usefulness, but sometimes I need to use her to counter specific things. The only time I play Mercy is when there is a pharah or bastion on my team. I’ll get a vid of a loss. The sad part is in this game our torb did literally nothing all game, it shouldn’t have been easy.
I’ll just be honest and say I didn’t watch more than 20 seconds worth. And in that 20 seconds I saw nothing but healing full hp allies and 0 use of guardian angel.
If you want to get to higher rank, you need to constantly be providing value. If you have nothing to heal you should be damage boosting. If you have nothing to heal or damage boost whip out your pistol. But definitely don’t just sit there and keep healing someone who is already fully healed as that provides no value.
Additionally, as you get better learn to use guardian angel and super jump as a way to divert fire from your allies. Any fire you draw is fire your teammates aren’t which provides more value.
