Gold rank but playing in gm lobbies purposely

There’s a glitch going around that high sr players are abusing to six stack in high ranked lobbies.

They do this by having the requirements of having an account being high ranked around 4400+ sr the seasons before doing the glitch, then leaving all of their placements to purposely lose all their games, they then get placed gold and queue, and they can stack with anyone in gold/plat/etc. they then get placed into a high ranked lobby such as a 4300+ average sr against the enemy team.

We’ve witnessed many players doing this to ruin GM lobbies, they either throw and bring in an actual gold and plat player as a “joke” or they 6 stack with 4400+ players doing the same glitch. It ruins the lobby regardless of what they do. Players lose 50+ sr going against these tryhard cheating stacks. If Blizzard wanted 6 stacking for GM and above they would of allowed it, but they found a way to cheat the system and ruin it for everyone.

The MMR of the gold/plat accounts always bring them to a GM lobby, it’s not fair, and it’s just plain boring to go against. Fix this bug please.

This appears to be a design flaw, not a bug. It can be cured by:

  1. Removing the -50 SR penalty for leaving.
  2. Only counting placement matches that don’t have leavers.
  3. Major changes to MMR: hard-limiting the maximum MMR/SR gap, or removing the dumb concept of separate MMR entirely.

The 6-stack exploit in GM is only one aspect of the problem. The derank stacks in low ELO are poisoning the rest of the ladder by creating a huge disparity between smurf/hacker SR and MMR (SR being too low, MMR being too high).
