i know Jeff didnt like the idea of gold guns but do you think they will remove them for ow2? personally i really hope they dont. i like flexing on people and i feel a sense of accomplishment like “yes i grinded these 3000 comp coins to reward sombra with a golden gun” and tbh its the only reason i play comp. i feel like if they removed it there would be some outrage (like always) because i know alot of people who just grinded their way to get all the gold guns. i also hope they add more rewards for comp coins like stickers maybe or something like that. i think that gold guns are a cool way to get people to actually try to win comp games and not just play them to faff around on a character they’ve never played. i really hope they do carry through because if not i will be muy triste.
They will not remove it. They need something to make many people who dont care about toxic mode to suffer through it.
I wish they do something to get them outside of that place but they would be to scared to do so.

I dont think they will remove them. Maybe they remove comp points and introduce other weapon skins. Thats more likely. I would buy the gold skins before OW2 launches.

Yeah I have almost saved 6k points because there is no hero left I would redeem worthy a golden gun… but I have the feeling I should spend it because they will surly change the comp system and rewards in OW2. But until that happens I have a year or two… sadly…
Master Ian Gamer spoke to Jeff in the content creator discord and apparently comp points are being removed, and gold guns are never able to be unlocked again. This was never released publicly, but I got the pic from a DM with someone friends with Ian

Not be UNLOCKABLE again and comp points being removes. So in the end: people who have a golden gun can keep it and others cant get them anymore in OW2. The only time you get golden guns in in OW1.
This was what i saw today about it. It dont sound like they removing it to me in this AMA… but not sure if it was about current or next game i dont follow it much
I still think its not going to happen to be removed from mode at all base on this. But who knows.
I think its VERY likely. Why? Its simple. OW2 is a fresh start where they can change everything if they want and therefor they fix mistakes. Comp points and golden guns where a mistake because they force people to play comp even tho they dont care to be competitive at all and just want the guns (I am a good example for it). Therefore they will remove them to not force people into modes again. Especially when comp should just play the people who care about the rank.
I am sure they will bring weapon skins in other forms into the game (BP, events or from a store). But golden skins are not obtainable and OW1 players are the only ones who NOW have a chance to get them.
