Stop lying to yourselves.
You couldn’t balance the game. You had 0 idea. You created a huge damage creep while effectively doing absolutely nothing against Goats, only creating different variations of Goats. The game balance is now completely fricked, with only a few heroes being viable in 2/2/2.
You nerfed every single tank that was somehow involved in Goats and left us with Orisa and Roadhog, the only tanks that weren’t part of Goats. Surprise, they’re meta now because everything else is trash due to nerfs. Nobody wants to play tanks now, go figure.
You literally introduced a hero prior to Goats that was so problematic, you had to change an entire game mechanic, Armor. Armor is now completely useless.
You completely ignore all feedback. Whether it’s the players that represent your game in the league, on streams or the playerbase, you have 0 affiliation to any of these groups. Huge issues rise to the top, a random nerf to something completely irrelevant and fine comes up, creating a completely new issue. Rinse and repeat.
While we’re on the topic of game balance, what is this trend about making the game more fast-paced and making heroes less mechanically demanding? We’ve seen many cases of heroes just having their attacks sped up or made more frequent without any trade-off. Take McCree for example, faster fire rate and nothing else to balance it out. Now if you get caught in McCree’s flashbang (which radius doesn’t match the visuals at all. Please fix) you’re basically dead because McCree has enough time to dink you 3 times, while you could barely do 2 dinks before the buff.
There are many other cases with increased frequencies of damage abilities. Such as:
Roadhog primary fire, Symmetra’s secondary fire, Pharah’s primary fire, Hanzo’s new ability, Doomfist’s primary fire faster recharge, Torbjörn’s secondary fire …
Nowadays, the balance team seems to be completely oblivious to the actual issues within the game balance. Huge personalities and your playerbase provide you with constant feedback, and all you do is ignore it, not talk about it and come up with random changes in an attempt to fix an issue that’s not even an issue. An example of this would be Reaper’s lifesteal overbuff or McCree’s fan the hammer damage buff.
Now, we have heroes dominating due to the lack of counters, heroes being totally unplayable due to being completely gutted and heroes who have to be played most of the time or you have a very high chance of losing.
This balance team is a joke.
