Go back to Sym 2.0

Been a sym main for 4 seasons, and this is the worst she has ever been. No survivability, no dps potential unless you sit there and charge off a shield for like 7 seconds, no way to actually support the team anymore. I can’t believe you thought THIS was an improvement.

Only changed I liked was the turrets, everything else has been trash

She had two viable ults, and now a useless one.
Her new teleporter is leagues worse than her old ult, you can say “it’s such a playmaker” all you want, the only time you can make plays is when the enemy team literally has zero clue how to play the game. Cheese tactics don’t work at a high level.

And stop destroying people’s favorite heros by reworking them, instead of doing small tweaks like you do with your former offense heroes.

according to old symm pickrate she was played by like six people in entire world.

I’m going to main new one, she’s fun and active.

Blatantly false, she had a decent pickrate and winrate if you knew how to play her. She had a bad stigma from sym 1.0 so people talked strash about her, new one is not more active at all since you just sit back and spam turrets and secondary fire from afar.

I’m actually enjoying new Symmetra. As someone who never liked playing her before, her changes are quite nice.

Yep.

Primary is abysmal, absolutely useless, people have done the math and it’s hands down the worst weapon in the game. Turrets are slow, clunky, noisy, can be shot mid-air and still die by a cough. Ult is incredibly useless and situational. All in all the hero is butchered.

This is what blizzard does, they rework problems that can be fixxed with much more minor sollutions

Don’t expect them to revert these changes, all the DPS mains are fine with Zarya 2.0 so she’s not coming back.

ScatterArrow has a point. Her pickrate suggested that she was played by like 12 people. She wasn’t good in 1.0 and 2.0, her kit simply didn’t fit how the game is and needed an overhaul. Maybe the changes aren’t for you and is not the playstyle you enjoy , which is fine, but that’s more of a you problem than a “she’s bad” problem.

Yes because reworking a hero to the point of it being unrecobnizeable and literally none of the skills and techniques get transferred to the new hero. That’s totally a solid way to go

Especially when that playstyle obviously isn’t causing any problems like other reworks were fixxing.

Why would being a sym player be relevant? They all like to argue its a completely different hero anyways. We dont really know if she is better or not yet since we dont have stats, and cant play her in comp, the only game mode that is taken somewhat seriously.

Attacking torb on Numbany 2 point. In OWL. Brought to you by Houston Outlaws Jake. SUCCESSFUL

Because if you didn’t play Sym you would have nothing to compare her to. Easy, really. The only thing that’s decent now is her TP. Other than that she has nothing unique about her. She still isn’t worth taking over anybody else, but now she doesn’t even have something that truly separates her from other heroes (Piercing orbs and TP/SG).

Her new TP isn’t as good as people seem to think. It wont make her meta. I could see her being part of a few cheese comps on point one attack, for example. I don’t see her ‘actually’ being played outside of coordinated teams that want to try her out.

I always love when people, 2 weeks or less after a rework, talk about how the changes must be good because they started wanting to play a hero lol. it’s not like a majority of her kit has been in the game for two years and she got a following from people that enjoyed using her. It’s not like this current version of her is still painfully unviable and unfun for both sides to stomp/get stomped as.

No, it’s “I put my first 2 hours into her after the rework, so it must be good”. Honestly a great joke aside from the depressing reality that Blizzard has a rework addiction that isn’t helping the game without months of agony at a time, breaks not guaranteed.

how can the devs be so clueless? no heal => useless as a support. now she’s competing with the 15 dps characters that take up 0, 1 or 2 spots on a meta team

The play style is not the same but the character is since her abilities are still there and work the same way, just expanded on. The play style was causing problems, she wasn’t viable and didn’t even work in her effective niche that other characters could do 10 times better.

So if I didnt play sym I wont be able to tell if the hero is good or not? Didnt need to play sym for more than a few mins to know what she was like, didnt have to play her at all in fact, playing with and against her would be enough to know. She isnt in comp yet, once she is we will have a better idea how good or bad she really is. People didnt need to play old hanzo to know he is much stronger now, people didnt need to play old mercy to know she is much stronger. Some people claim sym is weaker, others that she is stronger, I guess we will see in a couple weeks.

Season 1 symm main here. Symm 1.0 and 2.0 was devastating in the right hands, the problem is how stacked the odds were against those choosing to play her. The new TP > PB does open up old wounds from season 1 and 2 where poor positioning really screws you over. I agree the old PB was great, and whilst it was only a band aid fix it really improved her QoL. With such a limited kit pre 3.0 you needed to be incredibly creative and constantly aware of your surroundings when attempting to create impact. The new TP and sentry changes took out the work and gives symmetra a lot of new options she desperately needed.

Despite that Blizz needs to address minor things with both parts of the kit. The tp is a step away from symmetra, place it at her feet. With the new sentries, they often clip onto surfaces I’m not aiming at. With a 55 circle crosshair if the edge still touches a wall I’m aiming past the sentry will clip on said wall. Thus making it harder to properly line up sentry shots. There are spaces on every map where it is now HARDER to place sentries close to you when compared to 2.0.

As for the ult, I agree it is kinda flat. Like obviously flat but its more versatile than SG. I would’ve liked SG to stay personally, since you could tp away to place it, divert flanker attention and get back into the fight in one move. This ult offers us the torb experience. How many heroes can ult from spawn and be effective when doing so in most situations? This rework is all about giving a hero options where she previously lacked any. If you’re struggling in diamond OP that’s less of a symmetra issue and more to do with your lack of game sense.
