Gm is now top 3% master is 7% and diamond is 18%?

According to overbuff it looks like the title is true. Does overwatch take stats from the entire player base or just the ones who have logged in? Cus then it would make sense since lower ranks players might not have logged in to check stats compared to high ranks

Overbuff stats have been skewed since private profiles, most low elo players don’t switch to public.

^This. Additionally, Overbuff figures have historically been slightly inflated due to the correlation between an interest in tracking performance/improvement and player ranks. Typically, the “play for fun” crowd isn’t too interested in stat tracking sites that require people to use their site to build a database.

IIRC: Back when we were informed the average season high was at around 2400, the [then] current average was in low plat per Overbuff.

This thread was made in Febuary so maybe it isn’t accurate anymore, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. And it uses official Blizzard data, not just a sample of players who’ve set their profiles to public.

Blizzard could tell us there are 45% on diamond and we had to believe it because there is no transparency. “You will believe what we tell you to believe”
