Gloating in match chat

As you most likely know, match chat is a dumpster fire. There are no benefits to being in match chat and many drawbacks. One of the most annoying things about it is when people gloat about a victory. Here is my guide to what to say in response that will shut them up every time.

Just respond “cringe”. It works in every instance I have tried.

I just say gg wp even if enemy enemy team junker spams gg eezz after winning a 6v5, generally get sportsmanship endorsements from one or two good souls on the other side. Ya im a endorsement whoru.

it’s the nature of competition, you will always get a minority of bad sports. getting triggered by other people being anoying is a habit that is easier to fix than trying to fix human nature and remove all annoying people from the world.

Can confirm. Replying cringe works wonders sometimes. Been using that trick for few years now.

they already got what they want by getting any reaction from you.

I honestly dont care if they type gg ez or that type of stuff. I just like to smack talk them sometimes & get reactions from them.

yes that is cool if you do it because you choose to. somepeople get upset by it and should just ignore.

Other similar games have match chat off by default bc of toxicity, you can argue that people shouldn’t be babied but those other devs made their decision for a reason

Ego food

I still don’t understand why we can’t just turn all chat off. It’s so easy to implement and something a lot of players would want I imagine.
I turned all talk off in LoL recently and immediately found my games to be less toxic, especially losing matches. (I’m not sure anymore why I ever turned it on in the first place, that was years ago.)

thing is people tend to notice the negative more than the positve, im sure if you noted all the times people were not toxic it would vastly out number the negatives.
plus it’s a subjetive term not everyone agrees with or feels the same way about.
always gonna be a minority of bad apples. i think the existing ways of dealing with them is fine.

to guy above, you can turn match chat off? you just go to social and click on the speech bubbles to toggle players chats off.

I’m not at my home computer now, but do you mean just individually muting every player on the opposite team every match? Cause that’s a bit cumbersome, though I suppose it does get the job done…

Ooh, I gotta try that! Even if I have to do that every game that’s not bad. Well, a proper option in the Options menu would still be better, but ok.

You already can do that. Just type ./hidechat without the dot & done.

This has been on the game for long time. But people are too lazy to type that obv.

come on dude, you have like 60secs of doing nothing before everygame starts, not hard to go to social and mute people. also why not just do it when people start actually being toxic, that would cut down on the work.

But without it you cant insult the low lvl widow player

Oh interesting. I’ll try that too. Sounds like it might disable the chat entirely though? I’d still like to see what my teammates are saying.

Well I guess… Still feels inefficient though.

Reporting is easy and best of all, they’ll never know until Blizzard hits them with the hammer.

Honestly don’t even say that. In their eyes it just shows that you’re mad.

Lol that doesn’t do anything but make you look angrier, little boy.
