Well… Greetings!! here I am again with my pleb tests.
I was playing the last 2 months Quick Play and Competitive and some Arcane (more QP). Every day for 3-4 hours.
I never reported someone for Abusive Chat just to test my pleb theory. I was using the “Gameplay Sabotage > Blocking Team Progress” report for players who were refusing to switch when their pick did not work for the good of the team (most of the time when they get hard-countered). First, I was trying to explain to them the reason their pick is not working and what we might need. I was not reporting them if they were performing at least 1 switch since I did not care if someone is good with the other pick but I only wanted to see that we all try for our team (since we all signed up to join and play a team-based game). When they had an open profile and they were one-tricks, I did not report them. Also, when the people were talkative and polite in their reasoning against the switch, I did not report either. Personally, when my pick is not working I have 2 other picks to switch and most of the time I ask my team if they want me to switch.
Based on that thing I was getting 2 to 3 “Thank you for reporting” messages per week. I did not know ofc what happened to their account. It might be a warning/suspension or a ban. It also might be a warning for abusive chat but rarely my reported people were toxic in general. (From OW1 I had friends who got suspended and banned just by playing poorly and not speaking at all in QP, but I don’t know what happens in OW2)
So, for me the “Thank you” message meant that other people reported these players as well and most of the time for the same reason as me “Blocking Team Progress.”. Since I was playing QP more, it’s good to know that people report others in QP as well because most of the time when I asked people to switch with arguments, their reply was “its qp idc”.
I like the new “revamp” Report UI from season 3. And by taking away the explanation of what is or is not reportable, it made the matter subjective.
For people who will say that I am falsely reporting and refusing to switch it’s not reportable, I would like to ask them to share a blue official post (after the season 3 date) which says that refusing to switch is not reportable and what Blocking Team Progress is. I tried to search too because I wanted to be legal but I did not find any updated info which led me to the conclusion that they left the matter in our own hands.
I couldn’t report people for the same reason with the old system because Blizzard had an explanation under their report reasons, now they added more reasons and took the explanation away.
Wow. Reporting people for not playing the character YOU deem necessary is as close to going full Karen as you can in this game, imho. Especially if you’re doing that in QP. Between the devs pigeon-holing people into being forced to play a certain way, and self-righteous players like you trying to force their will on every other player, it’s no wonder the player base is tapering off.
Edit: You should be reported for abusing the reporting system.
You are absolutely false reporting and I hope you get banned yourself for abusing this. They have long stated that not switching heroes is not a reportable action. I do not know what it says in the revamped UI, but this is what it used to say:
I guess guys you did not read what I wrote. Your prooves are outdated since it is from Overwatch 1 and they got removed in Overwatch 2 after Season 3. I asked for an updated (February 7, 2023 ++) proof since Blizzard performed changes and they took away what you are showing.
In Overwatch 1 there was only Gameplay Sabotage. Do you know that now when you click Gameplay Sabotage the new report UI shows you more report reasons to specify your report (I cant share links, but you can check it by clicking gameplay sabtoage and then Continue) ? The description you are showing it is outdated because it was changed/removed from Blizzard.
I might be karen or whatever you want to call me, but I am not false reporting. Yes, it would be false reporting when the description was there. It is not now.
So, I would like an updated source or a specialist to confirm what is and isn’t reportable. Also, people tried to multiple reports a previous similar post of mine some months ago for trolling or whatever and they were happy for the flag, but guess what, the bliz un-flagged it multiple times and the post is still up there. These people were falsely reporting me (because the description of the forum reports is up there), but I am not (till something change).
I don’t report but I do give feedback to these one trick ponies.
Even then they get mad when that feedback could have made them better.
As far as onetricks go. The mentality is dead along with 6v6. There is not another tank to give space for dps to do whatever is they want these days, or to cover for those pesky snipers who could effectively reduce a person’s play session to mostly respawns.
Plus…5v5 is literally much more team oriented. Contribution for the team is so much more important in today’s format.
So idk what it is that one tricks find toxic about Pros, GMs, Top500s even promoting adapatation to comp situations.
We the players haven’t started bringing it up. Its the best of the best bringing it up now about 5v5.
Not to mention knowing when a hero doesn’t work is a key skill. One tricks only ever work as a gimmick now. The best of the best on any given hero still can get hard countered with the right composition.
It has been proven, this is what the game is today, and one tricking has been less and less effective as time goes on.
They removed what they said!! Do you see it anywhere after the new report UI?
I might be wrong as well yes but you are not right either!! We are both wrong. When you destroy / remove a paragraph on something without saying the reason or writing something new, it is just gone. It might still apply, it might not.
You are 100% right on that. With the removal of the description, people can translate it as they like. You choose that, I choose another translation.
I did not understand the last thing you said. I did not imply that the people are the same. I just said that people got upset and reported my similar previous post but it was a false report thats why forum staff un-flagged it. The difference between these two is that the forums reports have a small description of what is or is not reportable. The game does not anymore.
Because its a new UI.
Not having the text up there anymore doesn’t mean it’s suddenly not true.
Until something new replaces the old, or it has been specifially said they don’t apply, the old still stands.
Because the fourms are wonky and what should be reportable isn’t and what isn’t is. Because it’s okay to talk about on the forums doesn’t mean it’s actually okay in game.
