with the changes to Comp Stadium from BO7 to BO5 the game is completely different & not in good way. i assume that the game developers shortened the rounds in order to keep games shorter thinking that would increase overall player playtime BUT this is such a poor oversight from the developers - with this change it is NOT the same game, the flow is different, the cash is squashed, & you cannot build the same kind of detailed builds you could with BO7. also who’s genius idea was it to add gadgets to a BO5 round when you cannot even pick your regular build items let alone a gadget - another poor oversight.
i’m super bummed because this mode brought me back to overwatch and kept me playing everyday - with these changes i won’t be playing any longer - glad i reach legend before the mode was gutted! TY for a fun 3 seasons and would love a great 4th season but ultimately without the changes it won’t be for me - and what it looks like is a large majority of players.
There are so many of us expressing this same sentiment. I’d previously been saying that I’d just swap to quickplay only since that’s apparently all they want us playing, but honestly after playing more games, there’s just a sour taste in my mouth! I want a respite from constant power ups. Stadium is a fun mode, but when every round means the tanks and DPS (and DPS supports) are getting that much more lethal, I’m frankly, bored. I don’t want to play Moira every match so that I too can just kill everything in sight and win that way. I like downtime rounds so that we can actually take a moment to consider what’s going on and how to respond!
I might also just turn the game off for the time being, like you. Why play a mode that isn’t fun for us? And I’ve already got over 1000 Stadium games! I loved this mode! But I won’t be bothering, if my experience isn’t valued over the players who did not play the mode to begin with.

they did that to every single game mode overwatch ever had to offer.

role q 6v6 got deleted.
People asked for open q, 5v5 open q got deleted.
People ask for more gamemodes.
denied, not enough players… adds stadium.
adds stadium qp, makes them what everyone was ever asking about. Adds ALL of those things into that one mode so nobody likes it anymore.

like for me stadium has 2 features no other mode can offer. (no swaps and role q)
but then fills it with so much items (things I dislike) because others (you) like them.
so they shorten the mode because I can’t do it that long. something I like and something you dislike.
they add the hero I was asking for months.
others hate that they added that specific hero.
Same here, I’ve dropped Stadium completely. The mode we had is gone. No strategy, no counter-building, just this hollow sprint to finish a match as fast as possible.
