In the retail patch notes for season 10, under bug fixes there is the following:
For those of you who don’t know, this was a tech found during Venture’s playtest two weeks ago, that gives Venture more mobility, but it takes both cooldowns and precise timing to do.
This is a way to raise the character’s skill ceiling without making them broken. This is similar to Doomfist, who can use Slam right after a Punch to make the slam go much faster and farther than normal, but it’s balanced and fair since it takes two cooldowns to use, and it takes skill to control the character at such high speeds. It’s part of what makes learning Doomfist fun.
Venture can reach similar levels of mobility to Doomfist, but also at the cost of both cooldowns, and it’s harder to pull off than the Doomfist tech, so I don’t see how it’s a problem. However, even though it’s hard, the Ledge Dash is consistent and reliable if you get good at it, so it rewards practice and mastery. If anything, the amount of speed it give you should have been nerfed instead of patching out this tech completely. Or literally anything else, I would rather them nerf anything else before removing this tech.
