I don’t know how to word this properly but here I go…
Torbjorn turret should be rework to be balanced similar to that of team fortress 2 engineer.
Let me just share the few things that make an engineer turret balanced.
- high damage balance by two factors ammo and the fact it’s stationary (I also think torbjorn turret has a larger range)
- the engineer is required to get metal from either dispenser or pickup in order to both heal and give ammo
- engineers turret does have a lot of health but in return it has a large size. comparatively it’s around the same size as a soldier or heavy.
- when hit in the turret with your wrench it will prioritize health before ammo
So from these three simple things how can we reworked torbjorn’s turret to make it so say, symmetra isn’t a better torb. It definitely is tough and knowing the previous versions of torbjorn do help us.
So before we think about changes let’s talk about issues.
- torbjorn turret is low damage at 56 DPS comparative symmetra’s turrets are now 40, she gets three of them that’s 120 damage per second
- the turret is very small but yet has 300 health (this kind of shows that OverWatch overall design doesn’t take inspiration from the team fortress 2 rule

) - currently the terror acts like a throw and forget, there is no negative to just throwing it out there even if it’s to die before it gets set up / engineers negative is that he just used metal
So what can we change
well first I do like the simple toss out, rather than place the turret, so I would love to keep that! But here’s a smallest of things to change.
- toss out builds level 1 turret
Level 1 is the size it currently is - HP 150
- beef up damage of level 1 to 30 DPS
That’s for bullets per second for a 7.5 damage per bullet - the range of every level is drastically reduced from 40 to 25
- add ammo to turret, level 1 gets 60 shots; that’s 15 seconds of shooting
- hammer restores 20 ammo
- alongside building your ultimate the turret builds its own ultimate; when it’s ultimate is complete you whack it with a hammer to upgrade it to the next level.
- level 2 bigger in size than it is now
- HP 300
- Damage from 30 DPS to 60, 8 bullets per second
- ammo increase 160, 20 seconds of shooting
- level 3 return, it’s slightly bigger than level 2
- HP 150 and 150 armor
- base damage and fire rate remain the same
- every 4 seconds shoot rocket that does 100 direct damage and 50 splash, straight fire no homing
- ammo 220; 25 seconds of shooting with rockets
- throwing a new one will reset the level
