Give Hanzo ammo

why hasnt he been given a ammo capacity? doing this would give him downtime instead of spamming his arrows endlessly.

He reloads after every shot. There’s a half-second recovery time for every arrow fired. This is his reload in the same way Sigma reloads after every shot.

If you do give him ammo, he’ll have to have his fire rate and damage adjusted.
You, likely, don’t want that.

That will likely mean:

  • Faster Fire Rate for slightly lowered damage
  • Storm Arrows will be changed to be unlimited, rapid fire shots requiring no charge time, for a certain amount of time AND with Ricochet.

That’s faster than Pharah… who has to reload.

I’m pretty sure she shoots faster than him, and is his counter…

I wasn’t saying she was a counter for him. She can fire a rocket every .8 seconds.

I know but I get the feeling you’re complaining that hanzo is op…to fully charge and reload is longer than 0.8 seconds I’m pretty sure

he has an ammo capacity of 1
what more do you want. you want him to craft his arrows too?

He actually says he crafts his own arrows in a voice line when a match starts

Yes, but Pharah doesn’t 1-shot.

And hanzo doesn’t fly

He just wall-climbs, leaps, and has wall-hacks as well as a rapid-fire mode.

tracer 1 clips cass 2 taps, Pharah 2 taps, Ana 3 taps, kiri 2 taps wall climb Tp, doom fist has all the movement, ball has all the movement, what’s ur point?

They aren’t spammable 1-shots.

Also, what would that animation even look like? Do you want Hanzo to throw his now-empty quiver away and pull out a new one?

Unironically love this idea. Just throw it at the enemy for like 2 damage.

Nah, be like reaper and toss the bow a pull a new one out of the quiver with a full clip.

yup hanzo is equipped with aimbot so he will never miss therefore his one shot is spammable :+1:

Try to understand how this works…

Pharah fires at a much faster rate than Hanzo, isn’t required to hit precisely for partial damage compared to Hanzo. And even if Hanzo did try to “rapid-fire” his arrows, he would not only lose out in terms of Damage-Per-Second (because everyone, save maybe Genji or Lucio) would out damage him, he’d still fire slower than Ashe does from the hip; and do less damage.

For Hanzo to meet “par” with all other heroes in terms of fire speed and damage, he has to fully charge his arrows. Much Sojourn needs to hit headshots for her Charge Railgun Shot to met par for the ammo used, Hanzo is restricted in the same way. That’s why he’s rewarded with critical hits that can one shot 200 health targets, because the math doesn’t really do him favors, if he’s just fluttering them.

Sigma, on the other hand, has so much better return despite having a similar fire rate, because he doesn’t need to be as accurate and still covers a lot of space.

With regards to Hanzo’s reload/recovery, try to keep in mind that Hanzo has a lull period after every shot that most heroes do not have. They’ll usually fire off a series of shots, then have that lull period/opening/reload afterward. Ashe is a greater example of a lot of sustained fire and pressure, and then a tremendous lull period while she reloads. By comparison, like Sigma, Hanzo has openings after every arrow. Though, with Storm Arrows he can “cancel” that reload period and rapid-fire every 10 seconds for less damage; but this is just a defensive cover.

Removing one-shots, completely from Hanzo would require a complete restructuring of how his weapon operates. If anything, he would gain faster arrows in exchange for less damage per shot, and probably still be just as annoying as before and even more difficult to approach.

Increase his projectile speed so it isn’t slower than a mei icicle at full charge.
It’s only spammy to you because it travels while players walk out of cover. It’s too slow.
It’s a flick and forget speed.
