I understand why they buffed all the tanks for OW2 role-queue since it’ll only one per team. The problem is that every other mode was created/balanced around OW1 tanks, so it becomes woefully unbalanced in modes like: DM/TDM, Arcade, or especially open-queue when there’s multiple tanks per team.
Even modes like “total mayhem” which were created around fun imbalance, become increasingly frustrating when, for example, Zarya can double-bubble herself indefinitely.
I dunno whyn I’m making this post, just wanted to rant lol
EDIT: What are your opinions of tanks having 2 different balancing options:
Role-queue = OW2 health
ALL other modes = OW1 health

I think they should just lower Tank HP by a flat 30% in modes that aren’t Role Queue.
And maybe have a 2 Tank Limit in Mystery Heroes.

Wow I can’t believe nobody saw this coming and actually WANTED tanks to be this way without thinking of the game balance consequences!

Well, when the enemy team starts with a balanced comp and ends with 4 tanks and a Lucio, you at least have the satisfaction of knowing your team outplayed them on just about every level…

Mystery Heroes definitely feels more ‘’ who gets more tanks and a support first wins ‘’ than it did in OW1, it’s a bit ridiculous lol.

Ahh, good idea, or possibly make the non-Role-Q mode tanks have the same health as they did in OW1.
That’s what makes Open Queue fun though, having more than just one tank on your team and they’re still just as good. I’d say make it so if there’s 3 or more tanks in open queue and other modes like capture the flag and assault, they receive 25% more damage for example. Tanks in deathmatch and team deathmatch have 25% less health all the time.

Test role limits! If RQ fails then this is the next thing.
Everything about OW2 seems rushed and they didn’t think everything through in regards to balance.
Like I said (in above quote), I’d rather they reduce the health of Tanks in non-Role-Q modes to OW1 levels.
You think that makes any kind of difference? The very moment they let Hog walk with take a breather and giving it 50% damage reduction is the day ctf died for good in OW1. It’s now impossible to play ctf in this game because the brainless balancers gave him 100 more hp.
It’s a good one but you just know Blizzard would do the opposite and give them MORE health and damage because of how biased they are when it comes to Tankwatch 2.

I think if the devs had different balancing for different modes, that they wouldn’t want to get that complicated about it.

Leave open q mode as it is.
Its more fun with no flanking dps anyway.
But yea some arcade modes could use some changes.

Really, Is this new feature? I don’t remember reading any patch notes about reduced tank health. Then again I never played deathmatch because of the tank imbalances.
No no no, it’s a suggestion. I wish that’s how it worked, sorry I could have been more clear on that

They made them overpowered to make people play them. 1 tank before RQ was just fine in 6v6. It would be fine in 5v5 as well, so yea, only reason we are standing here their ego and not admitting RQ has been a failure.

Earlier the enemy team tried to do triple tank on an open queue match and I went Junker Queen (was only tank)
and I killed the Sigma and other junker Queen but their Ball escape so I just went Zarya after I died the first time and Microwaved them ez
I had great healers and nice DPS to assist me of course.
But seriously it’s so annoying having 3+ tank on enemy team like please

I didn’t mean balance for every single mode individually, tanks would only have 2 balancing options:
Role-queue = OW2 health
ALL other modes = OW1 health
Well, I’ll put it this way. Whatever you can convince devs to do. Great.
I usually just tend to error on the “fewest changes, to make the most benefits, fewest downsides/sideeffcts, with the Path-of-Least-Resistance in getting put into the game”.
