It’s an old franchise who, at the time, was basically sitting next to Transformers in the timeslots.
It’s more of a Gen X thing. The franchise rose to its height of popularity with an animated show and expansive toy line in the 80’s. This is where the moved from barbie sized figures to smaller action figure size. This allowed the sales of vehicles and playsets at a more economical price. It was pretty popular in its heyday.

Obviously, that’s the main reason for characters’ designs now - be ready for a collab. From minute one I called Toph skin for Venture. Here I guessed Freja would be in an 80’s cartoon collab, I just said Sorcress from He-Man.
Screw that, where the hell is my Baroness Sombra and Storm Shadow Hanzo?! Was that image fake? What’s with this trash… I am actually so upset. But my wallet isn’t.

Snake Eyes is still good, but since he doesn’t talk, there’s not much reason for Genji to be him.
Of course, we all know Genji is technically a Snake Eyes expy.
