GG's and GR'S in a Nutshell

If the phrase “gg” gets under your skin, you’re tilted. Confirmation bias is easy.

If you need to say “GG” after a game to let the enemy team know you won, your petty.

You dont say it to let them know you won lol. You don’t understand sportsmanship if you think like that

I understand completely, played sports all my life. If you don’t think most players that say “GG” after a game mean in as an insult, you’re delusional.

If you take “GG” and a literal insult, then you’re so unbelievably fragile.

You’re right, but it bothers some people. So why don’t you get over self and just exit the game instead of sounding like a lowlife?

So where does GG go from being something you say after any other sport, suddenly become an insult? How does the meaning suddenly change when it’s a video game? That doesn’t make any sense

Shouldn’t that be said to the people insulted by GG? The people who are afraid of hearing “good game”?

Because sitting here saying “GG is an insult” without any evidence or actual argument is so wrong.

It’s a game, GG is a term used for a variety of reasons and not for just trash talking and without any other context from the person saying it regardless of the games outcome, how do you know it is meant to be an attack on the other players? GG is interpreted in so many ways so stop being a snowflake and move on.

This is exactly what I’m talking about. Thank you for proving my point.

Your point is not proven you’re literally saying “It is only an attack on other players.” If you get butt hurt from “GG” please stop playing ranked and go play arcade or custom games.

Yes it’s so easy to trash talk cowering behind your computer screen. I bet you can’t look people in the eyes to hold a conversation either.

Who started insulting again?

While I do agree with you it’s not like having a pessimistic view of the world is a bad thing.

Having an entirely pessimistic view of the world is. Always assuming the worst in others is a bad thing.

I don’t believe it’s a bad thing. It shields those from others and it’s shielding me from you right now.

For example: I am of the opinion that you’ll never change your opinion of those with a pessimistic world view. If you end up doing it then that’s great and I’m glad you were able to see the other side of the picture. However, if you don’t then you’re just a drop in the bucket. I’m not disappointed and at worst you’re angry at me - it happens.

In what way are you being shielded? What do you need protecting from me for? How you view the outcome is determinant on you. Whether the worst of me is assumed or not shouldn’t be the thing that determines your emotions.

This is the internet on an overwatch forum, not taking it too seriously and understanding that the people on the other side don’t affect you is what I would hope people are able to do. It’s easier said than done, but maybe try and take it less seriously.

You make an assumption about how I’l react and that can affect how the discussion will go. It’s a two way street on I hope you also consider that the pecimissim can also be toxic. If you are referring to being pessimistic on the forums I’ll give you credit there, no contest. But to view the entire world in that light is toxic to you and those around you. It may feel like protecting yourself, but addressing the actual issue and reasons for, what I think are insecurities (that I deal with and still am trying to overcome), will result in a better outcome.

I’d like to remind you that the context of this is “Everyone saying GG is just doing it to upset people”. That isn’t something I would say is healthy to be pessimistic about, and is what I’m saying is toxic.

I leave the game as fast as possible when the game ends to avoid seeing that gg word

God this word hurt more than insulting the other team when they lose
