Cheating in overwatch won’t get you banned but calling it out does. Because of course that is exactly how the system should work.
For months I have had to deal with people mass reporting my account even tho I don’t speak in game or use text chat due to the toxicity. I was playing a few games in quick play last night and noticed some players cheating. I finally simply asked why. This morning my account is closed. I went from account silenced and muted because the players in this community have incredibly fragile egos to my account being permanently closed. I should have just joined the cheaters. So sad this reporting system can be so easily abused by bad faith actors. And yes if you cheat in a video game you are in fact a p****

I have spent way too much money on skins in this game. Why would I willing partake in activity than can get my account banned so easily? Hell why would I spend money on skins in a game if I was toxic. This is overwatch in 2024. You are more likely to be banned for saying GG then you are cheating. You are right tho I just bought the mythic weapon for Rein with the sole intent to get my account closed. Make it make sense

I actually got muted for saying “GG” after every game, to the point i stoped. Funny enough, if you play with bots in practice mode they say GG after the game ends. Should Blizzard be muted too?

There are no perfect system.
Every game has cheaters, every games have a ban problem.
In the old days, the host was the sole dispenser of justice. And it was very often unjust.
Scratch that. There is a perfect system. The chinese have started to emprison cheaters. It seems like the way to go.
So then make a ticket and appeal it.
Tip: If you suspect someone is cheating, just report, block and avoid. Do not speak to them.
Well you should know the cheater que with duos. So they will target you.
You dont go from silenced to account closed. Unless you were cheating.
So tell the truth, why did you get a 1 month suspension prior to getting account closed ?

the methods for detecting cheats needs a overhaul some games no longer have a cheating problem as they have a real anti cheat like warden is basically broken and cant detecting cheating software and hardware
Same type of a thing happened to me bro. like I say “GG next time guys” and I’m 2 week suspended while the people reporting are saying the craziest things; I’m just too lazy to report them. I don’t understand this? reporting someone’s account incorrectly and getting than banned maybe worse than spamming or voice/text chat abuse. I know this crazy but maybe they should try muting first before getting butt hurt before they get any chances to report. If they make you leave the game or cost you the win after you muted them by being toxic then you should be able to report. idk. Or Everyone will report everything, and the bots will keep banning us off their outdated system because blizzard too greedy to hire more support people/teams. How I go from a 5 endorsed to suspended for 2 weeks?

OW’s report system is awful, and so is their customer service. BUT, if you were truly banned/suspended for no reason, you should be able to make a ticket and appeal it.
it’s the same with leaving matches… someone can abandon the game half way in and queue up for another one as they ended up in my next match… (Competitive Match)
I was in Queue, it was over 20 minutes cause i got up and went to take a deuce didn’t even Pick a character and was told I abandon… I mean how did I abandon when i was taking a dump, an didnt pick a character… its not my fault I got wait almost 30 minutes to get into a competitive match.
But its perfectly fine for others to go into a match and quit half way and queue up for another one
Maybe you are just bad at communication? I talk a lot in this game, and have never been silenced or muted or anything.
Also, this seems to be a common trend among people on the forums that complain about “being banned for nothing.” You all seem to think, FOR SOME REASON, that a lot of people have “fragile egos.” Maybe you just shouldn’t say inappropriate things?
its “participation trophy culture” is what it is. I am equally tired of the losers out there that have to automate their gameplay just to feel good about their ego for about 10 seconds.

Nobody calls an aimbot an “aimbot” anymore. its aim assistance. otherwise we hurt the poor cheater’s feeeewlings. boohoo.
Really disgusting if you ask me. Anyone cheating needs to hear it, and yeah even if a person may not have 100% proof they are cheating. any experienced gamer can tell the difference between natural aiming and prediction vs some automated aim “assistance” (cough) that aims the same way like all the other 10 billion aimbots available on the web.
Where it just “magically” corrects the aim, all the same way.
Well anyway, until these companies decide to use their extremely highly paid attorney’s on retainer, and begin suing gamers directly for exploiting their software directly. Not much going to make these games worth investing time, money or effort into
overwatch 1 didnt have even close to as much of a false reporting problem. this is an OW2 problem. they made changes to their system…because of the hyper casual debit card kiddies they want them to buy their over priced skins.

None of this matters now. My permaban got lifted because it was fraudulent. A direct result of mass reporting from bad players with fragile egos.
People are abusing this system. People are blatantly cheating in qp. The fact you cant even say GG without being silenced it indicative of just how easy it is to manipulate the system.
This forum is flooded with people defending the worst behavior because they partake in it and it allows them to justify it themselves.
If you got your account previously silenced, then banned for X days and now you got the perma ban sorry to tell you, but you are lying.
And you are trying to create a story to put Blizzard in a bad place.
Be a better human while you are playing online games, no one deserves your toxicity and you revived what you deserved.
Imagine sucking this company off with their own track record. I dont need to do anything to put them in a bad place. Their own practices do that. People abuse the systems this company have put in place and sometimes appeals are actually legitimate.
