Getting used to a new sens

Hey guys. I have been playing at 5.17 sens and 1000 dpi for about 9 months now. However, I have started to play more frequently and play more aim intensive heroes, which is leading to me having wrist pain frequently. I want to avoid carpal tunneling, so I decided to switch my eDpi. I now play 2.5 sens with 1000 dpi. I need some advice on learning to get started going from arm aiming to wrist aiming. Firstly, I was wondering if you are supposed to have your arm on the desk when you aim?

I ll go with my 2 cents.
I think arm shld be use to move the mouse large distance and wrist shld be used to adjust aim when shouting. So i guess when u turn 180° just lift the arm off the desk abd move it and when making small adjustment to track the genji in front of u move the wrist while ur arm is on the desk . I think it s really personnal preference .

Now you described that wrist movement causes you pain and then explained that you roughly decreased by half your sensitivity . I m not sure if the pain comes from either . The sensitivity is too low causing u to make large movement with the wrist hence causes pain . It could also be that ur hand is too crisped and tense on the mouse and that may cause pain.

I m playing with a sens of 3 and dpi of 1600 . Never had pain on the wrist so far.
Tldr: i think you shld maybe increased ur sensitivity a bit to reduce the amount of movement u need to do with ur wrist . Or entirely relearn how to move the mouse with arm instead of wrist to reduce risks of pain.
Hope it helps
Cheers!

You’re putting too much tension on your wrist. Switching from wrist to arm aim solved my pain issues and increased my accuracy by as much as 20% on hitscan.

  1. Find a more comfortable mouse. Lightweight and a bit smaller than what is recommended for your hand size works great for me. I use a Logitech G Pro and wear a medium glove. A mouse should be easy to move and pick up without changing your grip or tightening it. Should pretty much stick to your hand like a glove. 3366 sensor is a must if you’re going low sens, picking up and putting the mouse down can cause cheap ones to spin out.

  2. Get a big hecking mousepad. Steelseries make really good ones and Logitech too.

  3. Find a sens low enough where you can comfortably 180 without dislocating your shoulder or running out of mousepad. And where you can still make minor adjustments with your wrist without overaiming (hardest part)

Your aim is potentially more precise when using your whole arm, as you are engaging more muscle groups. As you build muscle memory you will start incorporating wrist movement for minor adjustments as well. It’s important to keep your wrist relaxed because if you play a lot it will cause issues no matter which style you prefer.

I’m currently using a Logitech G Pro at 400 DPI with 8.5 ingame sens on a SteelSeries pad(large one) This for me has been the best setup, but as with many other things, mice and sensitivity are subjective. I know some pros get much better results with a much higher sens (Pine, Sinatraa and Dafran) and others with much lower (Aimbotcalvin).

I think you mean h*cking
There are children around

It’s best if you use your entire arm to aim. It’s about muscle memory. There is significantly more muscle in your arm then your hand, making your movements more accurate. I personally have the best results around 5snens 800dpi.
